Carya Velda

The Caryaveldi (singular: Carya Velda) are a non-human species from the Caryeon star system at Iota Chamaeleon, with two worlds — Sonia (inhabited) and Velda (used primarily for mining). About 9 feet tall with four arms, grey skin, clear eyes with pupils, and a thin long nose, they can live up to 150 years and wear clothing, typically dark blue — a pigment abundant in the soil of Velda.

Homeworlds

The Caryaveldi originated on Velda, the third planet of the Caryeon system, which they subsequently converted into a resource and mining facility. Their inhabited home is now Sonia, the second planet — a migration from their original world that mirrors a pattern of industrial exploitation seen in other technologically advanced galactic civilizations that have exhausted or repurposed their founding world.

Warfare history

The Caryaveldi are known to have been involved in wars with other races for approximately 500 years (Terran measure of time).

Relations with other species

Though capable of extreme danger, the Caryaveldi are not considered a primary threat by the Galactic Federation of Worlds.

Contact with Earth

The Caryaveldi rarely visit Earth, avoiding conflict with reptilian species whose military strength exceeds their own fleet's capacity for direct confrontation. This caution distinguishes them from more aggressive independent species: the Caryaveldi appear to have made a rational calculation about risk and capacity, staying clear of the reptilian-dominated zones around Earth while continuing other galactic activities.

Ships

Their vessels are oblong and silvery, slower than Galactic Federation of Worlds craft but capable of withstanding vortices and interdimensional travel.
