Anunnaki mining operations
Anunnaki mining operations — also called ancient gold mines of Southern Africa — were large-scale gold extraction operations allegedly conducted by the Anunnaki in the region of present-day South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and eSwatini approximately 200,000–300,000 years ago, employing a genetically engineered human workforce created specifically for that purpose. The physical evidence for these operations is identified by researcher Michael Tellinger in over ten million stone circle ruins across Southern Africa, a network of ancient underground tunnels, and advanced stone tools he connects to Anunnaki sound resonance technology. The operations are centred on the area surrounding Adam's Calendar in Mpumalanga, which Zulu shamanic tradition calls Inzalo ye Langa — "birthplace of the Sun" — and which Tellinger identifies as the site where humanity was created to serve as a mining workforce. See Anunnaki for the broader history of the Anunnaki civilisation and the genetic engineering of humanity.
The Igigi rebellion and the creation of human miners
Before human beings were engineered for the mines, the Anunnaki used their own subordinate worker class — the Igigi — to conduct the gold extraction. The Igigi are described in the Sumerian tablets as a rank of Anunnaki analogous to "angels" relative to the senior leadership; they operated from a base on Mars and performed the surface and underground mining labour on Earth for approximately 250,000 years. The labour conditions were harsh, and the Igigi had no female companions. Their grievances accumulated into an outright rebellion: the Igigi descended from Mars to Earth and encircled the command camp of Anu, Enlil, and Enki in Africa, threatening a coup against their rulers. The crisis was resolved by Enki's proposal to genetically engineer the existing hominid population of Earth as a replacement workforce — an agreement documented in both the Enuma Elish and the Atrahasis tablet.
Background: Tellinger's research
Michael Tellinger, who trained in pharmacology at the University of the Witwatersrand before becoming an author and researcher, was introduced to the Zecharia Sitchin corpus and later to William Bramley's Gods of Eden around age 30, which he credits as the primary trigger for his Anunnaki research. His first book, Slave Species of the Gods (2006), argued that Homo sapiens was genetically engineered by the Anunnaki as a slave species for gold mining — a thesis Tellinger says drew strongly on Sitchin's translations of Sumerian cuneiform tablets.
In 2007, Tellinger was introduced to researcher Johan Heine, who had accumulated hundreds of aerial photographs of the stone circles of Southern Africa that few people had previously seen. On viewing the photographs Tellinger concluded immediately that the stone circles were the work of the Anunnaki, relocated to the province of KwaZulu-Natal, and began fifteen years of on-the-ground research into the ancient gold mines and associated architecture. His conclusions were also influenced by Anton Parks, whose Sumerian translations led Parks to argue that Enlil was not Enki's half-brother but his autonomous clone — a reading Tellinger describes as transformative for his understanding of the internal Anunnaki hierarchy that oversaw the mining programme.
Southern Africa sites
Adam's Calendar
Adam's Calendar, situated in the Mpumalanga escarpment, is identified by Tellinger as the central site of the Anunnaki creation event — the location where the slave workforce for the gold mines was finalised through genetic engineering. Shamans and psychics consulted by Tellinger, including the Zulu elder Credo Mutwa, corroborate this identification. Tellinger dates the site to at least 300,000 years old based on astronomical alignments and associated research. The site's Zulu name, Inzalo ye Langa — "birthplace of the Sun" — is interpreted not as a solar reference but as the "birthplace of the sun of the gods": the place where humanity (as the gods' created servant) first appeared.
The Sheba Gold Mine is located directly opposite Adam's Calendar on the escarpment. It is this mine where, according to a consulting geologist Tellinger interviewed, a Vatican-sized underground cavern was discovered in the 1980s with veins of gold still slowly oozing from the walls — some depleted by ancient extraction without any evidence of blasting — before the mine was abruptly shut and sealed by authorities.
Lion Cavern
The Lion Cavern in Mpumalanga, on the border of South Africa and eSwatini, is acknowledged in mainstream archaeology as the world's oldest known mine. South African archaeologist Peter Beaumont, who excavated the site, assessed it at a minimum of 100,000 years old based on charcoal from man-made fires found at the corresponding stratigraphic layer; the official interpretive plaque at the site gives a figure of approximately 40,000–43,000 years. Tellinger situates the Lion Cavern within the same gold-mining belt as Adam's Calendar and the Sheba mine, and treats its antiquity as evidence that the mining complex is far older than conventional archaeology allows.
Ancient underground tunnels
Tellinger documents a pattern of modern gold mines across the gold reef of Johannesburg and Mpumalanga reopening pre-existing ancient tunnels, attributing the first modern exploitation to settlers in the mid to late 1800s who rediscovered the gold. He cites a 2015 incident at a Johannesburg-area gold mine where a caved tunnel wall broke through into a parallel tunnel that was "absolutely perfectly chiseled" — not a natural formation — which was then sealed and classified by mine authorities. Discovery reports from the 19th and early 20th centuries, which Tellinger says he has located, describe tools found in ancient tunnels that were confiscated by mining authorities and never made public.
Stone circle network
The ten million stone circle ruins distributed across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and neighbouring countries are interpreted by Tellinger not as livestock enclosures or huts but as a networked energy-generating infrastructure. Each stone circle, in his analysis, represents the cymatic pattern — the standing-wave shape — of the specific sound frequency resonating from the earth at that exact location, and the circles are connected by channels and terraces linking the entire network across valleys and mountain ranges.
A subset of stone circles are "magnetron" shaped — resembling a flower with concentric petals and a central stem — and Tellinger calculates that a magnetron structure 50 metres in diameter would generate, by the physics of magnetron energy, more power output than all Earth's current power plants combined. The entire network of circles, channels, and terraces is understood as a single machine: harvesting piezoelectric vibrations from the Earth, amplifying them through resonance, and projecting the energy skyward to a collection point.
Mining technology
Torus stones
A category of artefact Tellinger calls "torus stones" — donut-shaped stone objects — are identified as portable energy-generating devices. Infrared thermal imaging of torus stones shows one face generating heat while the opposite face absorbs energy, a polarity Tellinger interprets as evidence of energy amplification: input on one side, concentrated output on the other. He recounts that a torus stone he was transporting as a gift to physicist Nassim Haramein crashed the security screening system at Doha International Airport in 2013, after which he was detained at gunpoint before the stone was confiscated.
The torus shape connects to toroidal field physics: Tellinger argues that all matter manifests in toroidal fields, that the zero-point centre of any torus connects to the infinite density of the vacuum, and that the stone tori were used to access and channel that zero-point energy in the mining and construction operations.
Cone-shaped tools and the SASER beam
A second class of artefact — cone-shaped stone tools — appears in the iconography of ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt as well as among the Southern African finds. Tellinger identifies them as the missing element overlooked by over 200 years of mainstream archaeology worldwide: beam-focusing devices that channel a coherent sound beam, which he calls a SASER (Sound Amplified by Stimulated Emission of Resonance), analogous to a laser but operating through sound rather than light. Because sound travels through a toroidal zero-point field at effectively infinite speed, a focused SASER beam could cut stone without blasting, move large objects, and in weaponised form destroy planetary-scale targets.
In Mesopotamian cylinder seals and bas-reliefs Tellinger identifies the "winged beings" — typically identified with Anunnaki depictions — as holding cone-shaped tools in their hands, wearing a "magnetron wristwatch" device on their wrists, and connected by a cone running from elbow to wrist, which he reads as a complete SASER generation and focusing assembly. The quartz and silica content of Southern African granites and sandstones — which constitute over 50% of the stone by composition — is the physical basis for Tellinger's claim that these stones are functionally equivalent to modern silica-based semiconductors and fibre optics, making "Stone Age" technology a misnomer for an advanced resonance-based civilisation.
Connection to Zulu oral tradition
The region's indigenous oral tradition — particularly among the Zulu and San (Bushmen) — preserves accounts that Tellinger regards as corroborating his archaeological conclusions. The Zulu name for Adam's Calendar, Inzalo ye Langa, encodes a creation narrative in which the "sun of the gods" (humanity as the gods' creation) was born at that spot. The Zulu elder and oral historian Credo Mutwa (Baba Credo Mutwa) transmitted to Tellinger shamanic accounts of the creation of humanity in this region by the gods, consistent with the gold-mining slave-workforce narrative. The San people are identified as having continuously inhabited the region for at least 250,000 years, making them the oldest known continuous human presence in Southern Africa and a living thread to the period of the mining operations.
Tellinger also connects the Anunnaki gold-mining legacy to the origins of money: reading the Sumerian King List as evidence that the first post-Flood priest-kings, appointed by the gods, established the first temples as simultaneous courts, treasuries, and issuing banks — creating promissory clay-tablet currency as a fullyformed tool of social control, not as an organic development from barter. This conclusion is the foundation of Tellinger's Ubuntu Contributionism movement and the One Small Town initiative, which propose replacing money-based economies with community contribution networks.
Discovery and exposure
The claim that the Anunnaki mined gold in Southern Africa using a genetically engineered human workforce was first systematically published by Zecharia Sitchin in The 12th Planet (1976), which drew on Sitchin's reading of Sumerian cuneiform to argue that early humanity was engineered as a slave labour force for the mines. The physical dimension of the claim — that the stone circles, ancient tunnels, and artefacts of Southern Africa are the surviving material evidence of this infrastructure — was developed by Tellinger beginning with Slave Species of the Gods (2006) and extended in Adam's Calendar (2008, co-authored with Johan Heine) and subsequent books and lectures. Tellinger established the Stone Circle Lodge and Museum in KwaZulu-Natal as a base for ongoing research and visitor tours, and has documented the stone circles, torus stones, cone tools, and underground structures across a body of publicly available video and written work. The claim that virtually every active gold mine in South Africa occupies an ancient Anunnaki tunnel was presented in the 2023 Exopolitics Today interview with Michael Salla, alongside new material on SASER beam technology and the magnetron stone-circle network.
Elena Danaan account
The Anunnaki are "among the most advanced societies regarding genetic engineering" and "overcame the Reptilian race that was in power when they arrived on Terra" before becoming the new rulers of the planet. The reptiloid beings who could not escape the Anunnaki conquest were called "Igigi" by the Anunnaki and enslaved for approximately 2,500 years — a detail that inverts the Sumerian textual tradition in which the Igigi are the Anunnaki's own worker class who rebel. Following the mining period, the Anunnaki departed Terra but left behind an elite contingent to maintain control through human institutions, and entered agreements with the Alpha Draconian Empire and Orion empires covering conquered worlds, slavery, food chain, and genetic experimentation.
Enki's return and genetic restoration
In 2022, Elena Danaan reported that Enki — leader of the faction of Anunnaki that originally engineered humanity — had returned to the Solar System bearing what he called "the Grail": the original twelve-stranded Adam DNA blueprint, before the genetic diminishment inflicted by the opposing Enlil faction. According to Danaan, Enki passed the blueprint to the Galactic Federation of Worlds, which in turn transferred it to the Earth Alliance, where it was being used to develop holographic medical technologies capable of restoring the full twelve-stranded genome — including the radical life extension to hundreds of years reported in religious texts for Adam and his successors.
Alex Collier, speaking from his Andromedan contacts' perspective, confirmed a positive view of Enki's gift but cautioned that the extensive chemical damage to human DNA from environmental poisoning, pharmaceuticals, and food supply contamination might make purely spiritual DNA activation impractical for most of humanity — and that the technology may be necessary because "we don't have enough time to spiritually evolve to that level before the change comes." Michael Salla noted that some individuals would decline the technology out of conviction that twelve-stranded DNA activation is achievable through epigenetic and spiritual practices alone, but that a majority would likely accept it if recommended by Earth Alliance leadership.
