Chronovisor recordings of Jesus are alleged visual recordings of Jesus of Nazareth purportedly obtained through time-viewing technology and held by the Vatican, the United States government, or related classified archives. The claims originate primarily with Father Pellegrino Ernetti's Chronovisor project in the 1950s and with Project Pegasus witness Andrew Basiago.

Ernetti's Chronovisor footage

The alleged "face of Christ" said to have been photographed with the Chronovisor (La Domenica del Corriere, 2 May 1972); later identified as a mirror-reversed photograph of a 1931 crucifix sculpture.

Father Pellegrino Ernetti, a Benedictine priest and scientist, claimed that by approximately 1952 a team including himself, Father Augustino Gemelli, Enrico Fermi, and Wernher von Braun had constructed a device—later called the Chronovisor—capable of detecting residual electromagnetic traces of past events and reconstructing them as visual imagery. Ernetti stated that among the scenes successfully viewed was the Crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth, and that a still image from this footage was captured and later published.

The photograph purporting to show Jesus on the cross was published in an Italian newspaper in 1972. Critics immediately noted a strong resemblance to a commercially available crucifix sculpture, and Ernetti was unable to provide the original negative. Despite this, Ernetti never recanted his claim. Father François Brune, who interviewed Ernetti extensively before his death in 1994, reported that Ernetti privately maintained the device was real but that the Vatican had ordered him to keep its existence secret and that the published photograph may have been a substituted image rather than the actual Chronovisor output.

Basiago's Sandia testimony

Andrew Basiago testified that in 1972, while participating in Project Pegasus activities at Sandia, he personally viewed footage he believes showed the historical Jesus. Basiago described the viewing as taking place in the context of chronovision experiments that had by then advanced from the original two-dimensional screen image to a "cubicle hologram" in which observers could stand within the projected scene. He stated: "I saw similar footage in 1972 at Sandia, and I believe it was the actual historical Jesus." Basiago traced the technological lineage from Ernetti and Gemelli's accidental discovery to the U.S. military program he participated in as a child.

Vatican suppression claims

Both Ernetti and Brune suggested that the Holy See suppressed the Chronovisor and its recordings for theological reasons: footage showing the historical Jesus would raise unavoidable questions about the accuracy of scriptural accounts and might undermine doctrinal positions. Brune, who wrote about the subject in his 2002 book Le Nouveau Mystère du Vatican, argued that the Vatican acquired and sequestered the device after Ernetti's death, and that additional footage—including scenes of ancient Roman theater, which Ernetti had also claimed to view—may remain in classified Vatican archives.

Basiago's expanded account of Ernetti's work

In a later presentation, Basiago provided additional detail about the Ernetti-Gemelli technological lineage. He described how Ernetti and Gemelli were experimenting with a microphone that was "splitting the signals of Gregorian chants" when "something that Gemelli's father said to him in childhood came through the microphone." They then "got with Enrico Fermi" and "by 1952 had a flat screen chronovisor image, a looking glass image, of the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth." Basiago described his "three most remarkable moments" in Project Pegasus as including "seeing the images of the crucifixion and learning from my father that they also had images of the resurrection."

Cooper's filmed-hologram account

Bill Cooper, possibly referring to the Yellow Cube or a related device, claimed to have learned circa 1969–72 — as an officer in the briefing team of the Commander of the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet — that extraterrestrials in the early 1950s showed a hologram of the Crucifixion to U.S. government representatives, and that "the Government filmed the hologram" and retains the recording. Andrew Basiago separately described watching a 30-minute black-and-white video of the crucifixion in a private showing with a small group.

Yellow Book parallel

A separate but parallel tradition claims that the Yellow Book, the holographic extraterrestrial artifact provided to President Eisenhower at the 1954 Eisenhower meetings, contains a visual account of the life of Jesus as recorded by P-52 Orion observers who were present on Earth during that period. This tradition holds that the Yellow Book differs in key details from canonical scripture, and that knowledge of these discrepancies is one reason the U.S. government has not disclosed the artifact's contents.

Farsight Institute remote viewing project

The Farsight Institute, directed by Courtney Brown at Emory University, conducted a remote viewing project on Jesus of Nazareth during his youth — separate from and methodologically distinct from the chronovision tradition. The project employed multiple professional remote viewers working under blind conditions (no knowledge of the target) in isolation from each other. The transcripts were subsequently analysed using AI to identify convergent findings across all sessions.

Brown described the methodology and results in a 2026 podcast appearance: the viewers, unable to communicate with each other and unaware of the target, independently arrived at convergent descriptions. The AI summary of their combined transcripts described Jesus as "not a normal human from the moment of birth" and as representing "a deliberate extraterrestrial intervention" — specifically, a strategic incarnation overseen and monitored by non-human intelligences including "tall beings and Grays" who supervised his birth, early development, and what appeared to be off-world training periods conducted during sleep or altered states.

The AI summary further described Jesus as "a technologically advanced, immortal spiritual being who took on the mission of incarnating as a human to influence Earth" — characterised as a scientist or social engineer, not God in the Christian theological sense. A section of the analysis addressed the crucifixion, describing it as a "symbolic trap" or "symbolic hijacking" — a scripted intervention by "control systems" designed to subvert Jesus's actual mission and convert it into a theology of sacrificial control.

Brown used the Jesus project as a demonstration of Farsight's methodology for other contested targets — including the death of Jeffrey Epstein and the events of 9/11 — arguing that if four independent blind remote viewers can produce convergent descriptions of a target as historically remote as the childhood of Jesus, the methodology is robust for contemporary targets where physical evidence is suppressed or contested. Brown noted that Farsight's Jesus and other projects were shadow-banned from Google search results, appearing in Bing but not in the dominant search engine — which he characterised as deliberate suppression.

Venus parallel

Host Rob, in discussion with Brown, noted a parallel between the Farsight remote viewing results and the teachings of the Aetherius Society founded by George King, which holds that Jesus originated as a being from Venus who incarnated on Earth as a human. Brown noted the parallel without endorsing it, noting that his remote viewers' consistent characterisation of Jesus as a deliberately deployed non-terrestrial consciousness was consistent with the broad framework of ET intervention in Earth's spiritual history — a framework that is also central to the Yellow Book tradition and to the accounts of multiple contactee witnesses.
