The SR-75 Penetrator is an alleged classified USAF hypersonic carrier and reconnaissance aircraft described within the Aurora program account of aerospace writer Edgar Fouché, who placed it alongside the antigravity TR-3B and the smaller TR-3A reconnaissance triangle. In Fouché's account the SR-75 replaced the SR-71 Blackbird as a high-altitude reconnaissance platform and represents transitional scramjet aerospace, in contrast to the fully electrogravitic TR-3B.
According to aviation researcher James Goodall's reconstruction of the Aurora aircraft's operational profile, the hypersonic vehicle takes off from Area 51 aboard an SR-75 carrier aircraft and is launched at altitude before overflying denied territory — casting the SR-75 as a large mother-ship platform for smaller high-speed craft. A companion craft designated the SR-74 ("Scramp") is described in the same accounts as the smaller vehicle carried and launched by the SR-75. As with the rest of the Aurora lineage, the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works attribution is disputed within the research community.
