Mary Rodwell

Mary Rodwell is an Australian clinical hypnotherapist, registered nurse, counselor, author, and researcher specializing in ET contact experiences. She is the founder and principal of the Australian Close Encounter Resource Network (ACERN) and the author of Awakening: How Extraterrestrial Contact Can Transform Your Life (2002) and The New Human: Awakening to Our Cosmic Heritage (2016). Rodwell is recognized across the exopolitics and contactee communities as one of the foremost practitioners applying clinical hypnotherapy to extraterrestrial contact experiences and as a leading proponent of the thesis that a new category of human — children with anomalous cognitive and perceptual abilities linked to ET interaction — is emerging.

Biography

Background and training

Rodwell trained as a nurse and midwife in the United Kingdom before immigrating to Australia. She subsequently qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist and counselor, building a conventional therapeutic practice before her engagement with ET contact research. Her transition into this field began when clients presenting with anomalous experiences — contact events, missing time, apparent abduction memories — sought her clinical support, and she found that standard psychological frameworks were inadequate for addressing their reported encounters.

Disclosure and public activities

ACERN

Rodwell founded the Australian Close Encounter Resource Network (ACERN) to provide support, counseling, and research resources for individuals in Australia and internationally who report close encounter and abduction experiences. ACERN operates as both a practitioner network and a case-database organization, compiling testimonies and hypnotic regression records from contact experiencers over decades. By the early 2020s, ACERN's database encompassed several thousand cases from across Australia and from international clients who sought Rodwell's services remotely.

The methodology at ACERN centers on using clinical hypnotherapy to assist experiencers in recovering and integrating contact memories, rather than pathologizing or debunking the experiences. The approach explicitly declines to tell clients what their experiences mean and instead focuses on allowing the memories to surface and be processed — a non-directive approach that distinguishes her work from both debunking investigators and from researchers who impose interpretive frameworks onto experiencer testimony.

Rodwell has conducted regression sessions with numerous prominent figures in the exopolitics research community. Niara Isley, who describes secret space program abduction experiences and service on Mars, reported that Rodwell conducted a session specifically focused on her positive ET contacts — noting that Rodwell suggested "you have enough dark stuff to look at, let's see what's in there that's up the light." Isley described the resulting session as providing contact with beings she identified as her Loran (Lauren) star lineage, including a ship commander who took her on an astral tour of Mars and the Moon.

Star Children and the New Human thesis

The central research contribution of Rodwell's later career is the "New Human" thesis, developed in depth in her 2016 book of the same name. Drawing on the ACERN case database, interviews with parents, and collaboration with geneticists and educators, Rodwell argues that a growing proportion of children, particularly those born since the 1990s, allegedly display cognitive, perceptual, and psychic abilities that differ markedly from population norms, and that these reported abilities correlate with parental or familial ET contact history.

These children — referred to variously as Star Children, Indigo Children, or Crystal Children in related literature — are described by their parents and by Rodwell as demonstrating:

Rodwell argues these reported phenomena constitute evidence that the hybrid program — the long-alleged project, reported by abduction researchers including David Jacobs and Budd Hopkins, of creating human-ET hybrid individuals — has allegedly reached a stage at which hybrid or heavily genetically modified individuals are purportedly being integrated into the general human population and being born to ordinary families.

Public role

Rodwell has presented at Exopolitics conferences in Australia, Europe, and North America, sharing platforms with Michael Salla, Elena Danaan, and other leading figures in the ET contact research field. She has been cited positively by multiple Pleiadian and Taygetan contactees as one of the researchers whose work aligns most closely with ET-transmitted information about human evolution. Her hypnotherapy practice — conducted from Western Australia — accepts clients internationally via online session, and she trains other therapists in working sensitively with contact experiencers.
