Law of One
The Law of One, also known as the Ra material, is a body of channeled teaching built on a single metaphysical principle — that all things are one, expressions of a single One Infinite Creator coming to know itself. It is an esoteric, channeled account with no standing in mainstream science or philosophy, but it is one of the most widely cited cosmologies in UFO, disclosure, and exopolitics literature.
The material was produced in the United States between 1981 and 1984 by a group consisting of the medium Carla Rueckert, the physicist Don Elkins, and Jim McCarty, who reported contact with an entity or "social memory complex" calling itself Ra, said to speak from the sixth density of consciousness. The transcripts were published in five volumes as The Law of One (also titled The Ra Material).
Core teaching
The central statement of the material is that "all things are one, that there is no polarity, no right or wrong, no disharmony, but only identity" — that everything is a portion of the One Infinite Creator, and that creation exists so that the Creator may experience and come to know itself. From this unity follow the material's other themes: absolute free will, the primacy of consciousness over matter, and love (rendered as "love/light") as the active principle of creation.
Densities and the paths of service
Consciousness is said to evolve through a graded sequence of densities, from the mineral first density to the unity of the higher densities. In the self-aware third density — held to be that of present-day humanity — each being chooses a "polarity," a path of service to others or of service to self, and this choice is said to govern its progress toward the Harvest, the transition to the next density.
In UFO and disclosure literature
The Law of One is frequently invoked in UFO and disclosure writing to frame non-human intelligences as higher-density beings, to account for reports of consciousness-responsive craft, and to give a metaphysical basis to accounts of exotic physics. Within these communities it is treated as a foundational text; outside them it is regarded as a work of channeled New Age spirituality rather than an evidential or scientific account.
