Government suppression of UFO information refers to the alleged systematic concealment, by the United States government and allied states, of evidence concerning unidentified flying objects, non-human intelligence, and recovered technologies of unknown origin — maintained through classification, ridicule, disinformation, and the discrediting of witnesses rather than by simple secrecy alone.[citation needed] It is the unifying premise of the disclosure movement, encompassing the legacy programmes said to hold recovered material beyond Congressional oversight, the concealment of exotic technology, and the management of public knowledge through controlled disclosure and counter-disclosure.

The policy is traced within the movement to the early Cold War — the Robertson Panel's 1953 recommendation to "debunk" sightings, Project Blue Book's public-relations function, and Operation Mockingbird-style media influence — and to modern testimony such as David Grusch's 2023 account of programmes deliberately withheld from oversight.[citation needed]

The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), in its 2024 historical-record report, concluded that it found no evidence of any such concealed programme, attributing the belief to misidentification and circular reporting among a small circle of proponents rather than to an organised cover-up.
