Michael E. Salla (born 1958, Australia) is an Australian-American exopolitics researcher, author, and broadcaster active in UFO disclosure and ET contact research since 2003, who operates the Exopolitics Today podcast and YouTube channel through which he has conducted hundreds of in-depth interviews with contactees, insiders, and researchers. He holds a PhD in Government from the University of Queensland and was an Assistant Professor in the School of International Service at American University in Washington, D.C.
Salla describes beginning his academic research in international politics and conflict resolution in 1989, pivoting to the study of government cover-ups of ET life and advanced technologies in 2001 — which he has described as filling in the "big picture" of what drives international conflict. He coined the term "exopolitics" to describe the study of the institutional, political, and policy dimensions of extraterrestrial life.
