ODISEALINK

ODISEALINK (also styled Odisealink or ODISEA LINK) is a documentary film series, uploaded to YouTube, produced and narrated by Robert Raith (real name Robert "Bobby" Aria)[citation needed] — the co-author and principal promoter of contactee Jonathan Reed's alien-encounter case — documenting the 1996 forest encounter near Snoqualmie Pass, Washington in which Reed said he struck down and recovered a small non-human intelligent being he called "Freddie," filming it alongside a levitating obelisk and a metallic artifact he called the "Link bracelet." It gathers the forest encounter footage, the home video of the being, the case's other physical evidence, interviews with Reed and associates, and a 2009 return to the encounter site into a single long-form presentation of the case. As the work of the case's own principals rather than an independent investigation, the series presents Reed's testimony and the disputed footage uncritically; the underlying encounter was concluded by the Seattle UFO-Paranormal Group to be a fabricated hoax.[citation needed]

Production

The series was produced and narrated by Robert Raith, Reed's co-author of LINK: An Extraterrestrial Odyssey (2000). Its title combines odisea — Spanish for "odyssey," echoing the book's subtitle An Extraterrestrial Odyssey — with "Link," after the Link bracelet artifact Reed reported recovering at the encounter site.

The original documentary

The first installment — also styled ODISEALINK I or ODISEALINK THE MOVIE and dated to a 9 May 2009 release — was uploaded to YouTube in fourteen parts by the channel theXchronicIes in August 2009. It presents Reed's forest encounter footage, the home video of Freddie in the chest freezer, and Reed's narration of the 1996 incident and its aftermath.

ODISEALINK II: Requiem

A later re-cut, ODISEALINK II: Requiem, was released as an eleven-part documentary. Its tenth part features Reed's 2009 return to the forest site near Snoqualmie Pass where the alleged 1996 encounter took place, with on-screen camera timestamps reading "October 15, 2009" and "October 16, 2009." During the filmed walkthrough Reed identified what he said was the specific location of the encounter, noting storm damage that had felled trees standing in 1996 and pointing out the path he said he had run through the trees toward the obelisk.

ODISEALINK Worldwide

ODISEALINK Worldwide, subtitled the Global Witness Series, compiles testimony recorded around a 2001 International UFO Congress panel at which Reed appeared with independent investigator Daniel McEvoy, Mexican broadcaster Jaime Maussan, and Harold Chacon. In it McEvoy presents his inquiry into the case, including his verification of Reed's disputed academic credentials and his account of the deaths of two University of Washington scientists — the pathologist Rodger Haggitt and research chemist Michael Wessels — whom he said had been analyzing tissue taken from Freddie before any results were published.
