Covert assassination
Not to be confused with
faked death
.
Covert assassination, also called covert targeted killing, is a form of targeted killing carried out so as to conceal that a killing occurred at all: rather than an openly acknowledged killing, the death is engineered to pass as a suicide, an accident, or a natural death. It is distinguished from overt or violent assassination — an unconcealed shooting, bombing, or abduction-and-murder — by the deliberate disguise of the act as something other than homicide, and from a faked death, in which no one is actually killed and a death is instead fabricated to make a living person appear dead. The two principal disguises are the staged suicide (a real homicide dressed as the victim's own suicide) and the staged accident (a real homicide dressed as a mishap — for example a person reportedly pushed under a train rather than slipping).
In the worldview documented here, covert assassination is described as the last-resort sanction of the apparatus that manages secrecy around elite conspiracies — deployed against witnesses, whistleblowers, and insiders to black projects who cannot be silenced by intimidation, discrediting, or legal pressure, and used only where the killing can be carried out covertly enough to avoid drawing attention to the very secret it protects. The researcher Richard Dolan has argued that an honest official accounting of the UFO cover-up would reveal "that people have been murdered and people are in fear of their lives on a regular basis."
As a last-resort sanction
Insiders in sensitive programs are routinely warned — explicitly or implicitly — that a breach of secrecy could carry lethal consequences, warnings which have reportedly been acted upon in some cases. Lethal action of this kind is described as reserved for cases where lesser measures have failed and the threat of exposure is judged severe, because an unconcealed killing would itself advertise the sensitivity of what the victim knew. The requirement that it "be done covertly" is therefore intrinsic: the sanction is available only where the death can be made to read as suicide, accident, or natural cause.[citation needed] The same last-resort logic is applied across the deaths attributed to the Earth elites' alleged arrangements with non-human intelligent beings, where lethal operations are said to be authorized to prevent disclosure of those programs and agreements.
Among the MJ-12-associated documents, the so-called "burned memo" is cited as an alleged instance of such authorization being reduced to writing: it references the Secret Service code name "Lancer" — John F. Kennedy — in connection with an instruction that an operation "must be wet," using the tradecraft term "wet work" for assassination, should the subject become too dangerous.
Methods of concealment
The staged suicide is the most frequently alleged method: the victim is killed and the scene arranged to indicate self-inflicted death, so that the official ruling forecloses a homicide investigation. The reported death of the first United States Secretary of Defense, James Forrestal, in a fall from Bethesda Naval Hospital in 1949 — ruled a suicide but argued by Richard Dolan and the researcher Jesse Michels to have been a killing, with the bathrobe cord tied to the radiator afterward — is offered as an archetypal case. The staged accident is a parallel method, in which the death is arranged to appear as a traffic collision, fall, drowning, single-car crash, or similar mishap.[citation needed]
Where concealment is not attempted, the killing falls outside this category and is an overt assassination — as in the fatal shooting of Behold a Pale Horse author Milton William Cooper by sheriff's deputies in 2001, an open killing whose disputed circumstances are argued about as motive and timing rather than as a disguised cause of death.
Alleged cases and detectability
The broader pattern of deaths attributed to covert assassination among UFO researchers, insiders, and officials is documented at UFO researcher deaths, where fatalities repeatedly ruled suicides or accidents are argued to cluster around proximity to sensitive knowledge. Because the method's whole purpose is to produce a death indistinguishable from suicide, accident, or natural cause, each individual case is by design contestable, and skeptics note that a ruling of suicide or accident is precisely what the evidence in each instance actually shows.[citation needed] Proponents such as Dolan respond that the trace-free result is not a weakness of the claim but the defining feature of the method — that a killing engineered to read as suicide will, if competently done, leave a record reading exactly as suicide — and point to circumstantial anomalies (absent or substituted guards, cursory investigations, altered timelines) rather than to a surviving trace of homicide.
