Egon
The Egon (or Egoni) are a non-human humanoid species from the galaxy UDFJ-39546284, 13.2 billion light years from Earth, visible from Earth in the constellation Fornax and part of the Intergalactic Confederation. Graceful and slender human-like beings admired for their beauty and poise, they possess a rare genetic trait in which vegetal genetics are incorporated into their genome — causing their skin to undergo photosynthesis and emit a pleasant fragrance. Despite their vegetal nature, the Egoni maintain a binary mammalian reproduction system identical to that of ordinary humans, and they are also telepathic.
Egonari: Andromeda colony
The Egonari are a colonial branch of the Egoni established in the Andromeda constellation, in the Iota Ar star system on planet Ethriel, and identified as part of the Intergalactic Confederation. Egonari children do not attend schools; instead, they tune into the collective field of consciousness of the species and access direct knowledge, which imprints into their minds — sessions monitored by a parent at home and resembling a meditation exercise.
The Egonari do not possess an army; in the event of external conflict, they rely on their ability to mind-control an enemy and bring about withdrawal or peace. Against greater troubles, they depend on the defense forces of the neighboring Wu Hon Waat, the amphibian military power sharing their star system. They travel space using etheric vessels — constructs of an individual's personal energy field shaped by consciousness into a tangible external shell, appearing as geometrical moving structures.
Contact with Earth
The Egoni visited Earth only once, in 1935 in the USSR, addressing their hosts in a Slavic dialect and leaving a written message of approximately ten sentences. The message was suppressed by the political events of the time, with only two dates — 2017 and 2022 — left visible; these are interpreted as referring to a short window of time during which the fate of the human species would be decided.
