Satanic ritual abuse (SRA) refers to allegations that organised networks of individuals perform ritualistic physical, sexual, and psychological abuse of children and adults within a framework of occult or Satanic practice. The allegations first achieved widespread public attention in the United States during the 1980s, associated with a cluster of daycare abuse cases, and have recurred in subsequent decades in connection with elite pedophile network allegations, survivor testimony, and claims linking SRA to intelligence community blackmail operations and trauma-based mind control programs.

1980s daycare cases

The McMartin Preschool trial (1984–1990) in Manhattan Beach, California, was the longest and most expensive criminal trial in U.S. history to that point, involving allegations by more than 360 children of sexual abuse at the preschool and descriptions of ritual elements including underground tunnels, animal sacrifice, and costumes. No convictions were obtained; tunnels beneath the site were excavated by an independent team led by archaeologist E. Gary Stickel, who found anomalous structural features consistent with the children's descriptions.

Parallel SRA allegations emerged in the 1980s at the Fells Acres Day School (Massachusetts), Little Rascals Day Care (North Carolina), and the Kern County cases (California), involving hundreds of child complainants.

Franklin and Epstein networks

The Franklin Credit Union scandal (1988–1991) in Omaha, Nebraska involved allegations of an organised elite pedophile and trafficking network centered on Republican political fundraiser Lawrence King Jr., with alleged connections to the Reagan White House, the CIA, and Bohemian Grove. Investigative reporter Nick Bryant's The Franklin Scandal (2009) documented corroborating evidence including descriptions of ritual elements and connections to MK-Ultra trauma bonding.

The Epstein trafficking network — documented in court filings, FBI records, and the 2024 release of Epstein court documents — constitutes the most extensively judicially documented modern case of elite sexual exploitation with intelligence-community connections. SRA researchers identify the Epstein operation as structurally continuous with the Franklin pattern: elite access networks managed through blackmail and protected by intelligence agency control.

Intelligence operations and trauma-based control

SRA allegations intersect with MK-Ultra and its successor programs (including Project Monarch) in accounts that describe deliberate ritual abuse as a technology of trauma-based dissociation, used to create controllable dissociative identities in subjects designated for intelligence or sexual exploitation purposes. Transgenerational structure

Survivor testimony consistently describes SRA as transgenerational in structure — initiated within networks that extend across family lines and pre-date the survivor's birth, frequently using mainstream religious institutions (Catholicism, Masonry) as social fronts, and exploiting childhood memory suppression by timing initiation to allow the subject to forget before reaching an age at which they could report.

Breeding facilities and global structure

Survivor accounts describe dedicated breeding facilities operating as global networks, with agents conducting genealogical research to identify target bloodlines. One such reported facility — a "satanic monastery" in Jalisco, Mexico — was described as organized around both sexual production and ritual preparation, with activities monitored continuously. Electroshock is reported as a pervasive control and programming tool within such networks, including within psychiatric institutions where handlers are alleged to be embedded.

Occult initiatory structure

Former initiates describe established Satanic networks as operating through formal initiatory structures that interface with mainstream institutions including Freemasonry and organised religion. Entry is reported to proceed through occult initiation rather than overt traumatization, with progressive exposure drawing initiates toward darker ritual practice.
