The MJ-12 Defense Intelligence Agency briefing is a 47-page document, said to originate with the Defense Intelligence Agency and supplied in 2016 through researcher Heather Wade, that reads as a history of the Majestic 12 program as it stood in 1989. The most recent major addition to the Majestic documents, it surfaced more than two decades after the MJ-12 Special Operations Manual and through a wholly separate channel, and is treated by Robert M. Wood and Ryan Wood as a potentially accurate internal record of parts of the program rather than a contemporaneous 1940s paper.
Content
The briefing carries the signature of the physicist Philip Morrison, presented as its recipient, and centres on the 1948 Aztec crash in New Mexico. It states that President Harry S. Truman met with a surviving non-human entity held at a safe house, and that official contact with the survivor continued for up to a year. Michael Salla read the Aztec sequence as having set off the first "official diplomatic meetings between extraterrestrials and government officials, starting with the Truman administration," making the briefing a documentary anchor for the wider claim of early government–ET contact.
