EBE
EBE (Extraterrestrial Biological Entity) is the alleged US government designation for recovered or living non-human beings associated with the UFO crash retrieval program, reportedly first used in the context of the Project Aquarius and Majestic 12 classifications. The variant spelling EBEN appears in documents attributed to physicist Paul Bennewitz and others, and the terms are sometimes used interchangeably, though some sources distinguish Ebens as a subcategory with distinct physical characteristics and an active cooperation role with US military scientists. The EBE designation is formally distinct from diplomatic ET contact categories: it refers specifically to beings recovered from crash sites, held in government custody, or operating under observed conditions — as opposed to ETs who arrive voluntarily for negotiated exchange.
EBE-1
EBE-1 was allegedly recovered alive from one of the 1947 Roswell crashes in New Mexico and housed in an underground facility at Los Alamos Laboratory. According to accounts citing MJ-12 documents and the testimony of Bill Cooper, EBE-1 survived in captivity until June 18, 1952, dying of causes that were never publicly determined, after which Project Sigma was instituted to attempt contact with the species EBE-1 belonged to. Cooper described a second crash near Roswell in 1949 yielding further bodies, and placed the total of US craft recoveries between 1947 and 1952 at sixteen events, recovering 65 alien bodies and one live being. An alternative source places the surviving entity in US custody from 1948 until its death in 1953, with initial communication established using pictographs. Philip Corso described the recovered beings as physiologically similar to humans in many respects — with notably larger brains — concluding there were more similarities than differences, especially regarding neural architecture. The Interplanetary Phenomenon Unit (IPU), a classified US Army body, was assigned responsibility for crash retrievals including the Roswell events; Clifford Stone claims to have accessed its records during his service.
By 1952 EBE-1 had reportedly established contact with his home planet, Serpo, with communications in English allegedly conducted between Serpo and scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico beginning that year, according to author Len Kasten. After the death of EBE-1, Los Alamos scientists reportedly used the device to communicate with the extraterrestrial race they had then named the "Ebens," receiving the first reply around December 1952.
The Project Serpo documentary account — drawing on the testimony of an anonymous US government employee designated "Anonymous" — identifies EBE-1 (called "Ebe1" in that account) as a simple ship's engineer who did not communicate verbally but through "tonal variations and almost harmonic communication described as high-pitched singing." After numerous attempts, communication was established; Ebe1 claimed that his species had been visiting Earth "for thousands of years" and that the route to Earth was "very popular." Ebe1 provided humans with technology and knowledge in exchange for assistance in repairing a communication device recovered from the crash debris, enabling contact with his home world — identified as planet Serpo in the Zeta Reticuli system, approximately 40 light years from Earth. The species was subsequently named "Ebens" by the scientists at Los Alamos.
EBE-2
EBE-2 reportedly arrived in April 1964 for the first formally arranged landing and contact, at a secured area designated "Area 17" at White Sands — described as distinct from Holloman Air Force Base, which is sometimes cited as the contact site in other accounts. EBE-2 was described in a March 1983 interview with a former AFOSI agent at Los Alamos as being four feet nine inches tall with a thin body, wearing a tight-fitting jumpsuit, with four fingers and no thumb, and making contact at Site 30 inside TA49 at Los Alamos National Labs. EBE-2 departed in 1984, according to two alleged CIA memoranda shown to Linda Moulton Howe by a former Wright-Patterson and Sandia Labs employee.
EBE-3
EBE-3 arrived in 1978 as an exchange scientist, accompanied by two aides — one assigned to Groom Lake (Area 51) and one to Los Alamos Laboratory; EBE-3 was described as male and his LANL aide as female. EBE-3 and his aides departed in November 1994, according to the same sources.
J-Rod / Chi'el'ah
A being known as J-Rod — formally designated AQ-J-ROD under Project Aquarius — is among the most extensively documented claimed EBE encounters. Allegedly retrieved from a craft crash near Kingman, Arizona in 1953, he was subsequently housed at S-4 in the Papoose Mountain facility south of Groom Lake. The designation itself arose from early attempts to establish communication: a series of symbols was shown to the being and the first he pointed to resembled the letter "J"; the second resembled an inertial rod, yielding the compound name "J-Rod." Dan Burisch (then working under his legal name Dr. Danny Benjamin Crain), listed as Working Group Leader of Project Aquarius at Papoose Site 4, is described in a leaked document as having taken over 200 tissue samples from J-Rod inside a pressurized clean sphere — an Extraterrestrial Close Encounter, Class IV.c under applicable protocols. The purpose of the research was to determine why J-Rod's neuronal tissue at dendritic terminal ends was failing to self-repair, and whether the mechanism could be isolated and reversed using human DNA from a cadaver — a program known as Project Lotus. J-Rod is identified in some accounts as Chi'el'ah, a P52 J-Rod from 52,000 years in the probable human future.
MJ-12 EBE handling
Cooper described the Special Studies Group handling of EBE affairs as operating out of the National Security Agency — which he claimed evolved directly from Project Sigma, the communication effort following EBE-1's death. All EBE-related facilities were placed nominally under the Department of the Navy, with personnel compensated through Navy payroll channels regardless of which agency managed them operationally. The Greada Treaty negotiated in 1954 formally regularized the government's relationship to the grey EBE population, establishing the framework under which abductions, biological examination, and technology exchange were to be conducted within agreed parameters.
Catalogue of EBE species and crash retrieval
By the close of the 1980s the U.S. military had reportedly catalogued 57 distinct extraterrestrial species — the majority humanoid or bipedal in form, including at least three distinct Grey morphotypes — according to U.S. Army Sergeant Clifford Stone, who participated in 22 years of crash retrieval operations beginning in 1969 and testified at the 2001 Disclosure Project press conference. The classified field-medical manual reportedly used by retrieval teams contained 57 entries with biological information sufficient for first-aid response to injured non-human beings. Stone described personally releasing a living Grey-type EBE from Pentagon custody after the being had telepathically communicated that the arrival of its retrieval team might endanger the humans in the facility.
Origin and physiology
According to researcher Craig Campobasso, EBEs are allegedly "engineered humanoid automatons" originally created in the Orion constellation and/or Zeta Reticuli II over a million years ago, reportedly when Draconian reptilians harvested Zeta races' biological material to create a slave race, triggering a great war between the species. They are described as standing three to four and a half feet tall with thin frames, milky white to gray skin, large slanted eyes covered with dark lenses, diminutive noses, ears, and mouths, no genitals, and a chlorophyll-based biology. EBEs reportedly have "limited consciousness" but can function normally and perform programmed tasks, and if captured and interrogated they may allegedly be "linked to their programmers, who speak through the unit, with the capturers none the wiser." EBEs are said to collect human DNA during abductions and place alien implants into generations of human families for study, and electromagnetic energy enhancements purportedly programmed into their auras allow them to "tune their frequency to become invisible and walk through walls."
