Akara
The Akara — also called Mantis by Terrans — are a non-human insectoid species originating from the Sombrero Galaxy (M104), approximately 28 million light-years from Earth, existing across densities 3 through 9 within a matriarchal hive-structured society. Standing upright up to 9 feet tall and resembling large praying mantises, they appear in green, white, or black; their V-shaped head carries huge black faceted eyes, and small black appendages serve as fingers. Communication is telepathic; they are oviparous, with eggs hatching in vertical soft organic pods over a long incubation period.
Subspecies
The Akara comprise three known subspecies. The green subspecies, which bears wings and yellow slit eyes, is described as largely enslaved by the Orion Alliance and Grey Collectives. The white subspecies, taller with three pairs of legs, flatter heads, and black mandibles, is enslaved primarily to the Shamtbahali (Zeta Reticuli Xrog) and the Orion Alliance. The black subspecies — also called Tall Blacks — wear what appears to be a black glossy exoskeleton, with golden to glowing red eyes; they operate independently for their own scientific programs and assist the Galactic Federation of Worlds in raising Terran consciousness.
Galactic role
The Akara are masters of vibrational frequency and sonic technologies — so prized that they are actively hunted and enslaved by the Orion Alliance. Their ethical framework, based on logic and utility rather than moral categories, allows lower-density castes to participate in abduction programs without, by their own standards, violating their code.
Cross-cultural and SSP reports
Abduction researcher Eve Lorgen noted in a discussion with Michael Salla that mantis beings occupy a position in the abduction hierarchy above both Greys and reptilians: "mantis were higher than the reptilian and the reptilian didn't like that because they always saw themselves as being greater." Neuroscientist Andrew Gallimore observed that reports of mantis-type beings are not limited to modern ufology but appear cross-culturally in indigenous psychedelic traditions: the Yanomami describe a class of "fearsome insect-like being" called the wanaimë, and "if you compare that to modern trip reports, people always describe these mantis like beings and they almost always are... if not negative, at least kind of cold and ruthless and calculating."
Randy Cramer, a secret space program whistleblower, describes encountering insectoid species during his service, distinguishing between ant-like insectoids indigenous to Mars and a separate, much taller species with a torso rising from a body parallel to the ground and "two very large appendages" that could unfold into seven or eight manipulative flanges — standing "easily eight to 10 ft. tall from the ground." Cramer's description of the taller species' height and appendage structure is broadly consistent with the Akara's reported morphology. Emery Smith noted in the same discussion that insectoid species "seem to be the most analytical and the most intelligent species that we've studied" — consistent with the Akara's reputation as masters of vibrational frequency.
Contact account
Elena Danaan records a direct encounter with an Akara female named Meisha aboard a Galactic Federation of Worlds battle station, in the laboratory of Commander Denethor. Measuring approximately eight feet tall and green in color, Meisha served as Denethor's research assistant after he rescued her from Nebu captivity. Denethor explained that the intense disorientation Danaan felt in Meisha's presence was caused by the Akara's natural multidimensional distortion field: "She's a multidimensional being. Not only coming from a different dimension, but existing on three dimensions simultaneously. That is what Akara do, especially females." Denethor further described the Akara's singular motivation: "They dedicate their lives to gather information, knowledge and understanding about all life-forms of the universe... Akara have no sense of morality; they are only driven by one and only thing: curiosity." The Shena — an insectoid species from the Muri Urubah system — are described as related to the Akara Mantids and share their natural interdimensional distortion field.
