X-Tykut

The X-Tykut are a synthetic non-organic servitor race created by the Maytra to act as a slave workforce, resembling small Greys in appearance and capable of rational thinking, piloting ships, and performing a range of programmed tasks. Their appearance varies depending on the specific task they were designed to perform. Because the raw material needed for their manufacture is rare, fewer than 300 units exist. Being non-organic, they do not age and can function indefinitely. Their primary role is conducting abductions on behalf of the Maytra — including tasks such as undressing, marking, and implanting tracking devices in human subjects.

Origin and manufacture

The X-Tykut are listed in both A Gift from the Stars (p. 84) and the Encyclopedia Galactica Volume I (p. 17) in the section dedicated to the Andromeda Galaxy (locally named Megopei by the Maytra) — the galaxy of origin of their creators. The Maytra themselves originate from two home planets in the Andromeda galaxy and operate an empire spanning 77 worlds; they are considered a plague by many galactic cultures, though the Draco reptilians and Nebu have formed alliances of mutual interest with them. The X-Tykut serve as their primary field agents for biological sampling and abduction operations targeting humans.

The scarcity of X-Tykut units — under 300 — reflects the rarity of the inorganic material required for their fabrication. This scarcity also means each unit is a significant asset; their immortality (they do not age or wear out as organic beings do) compensates for the inability to mass-produce them. The task-variant design — where different X-Tykut appear differently according to their programmed function — suggests a sophisticated manufacturing process capable of producing distinct morphological configurations from the same base material.

Role in Maytra operations

The X-Tykut function as the logistical core of the Maytra's abduction program on Terra. While the Maytra themselves direct operations, the X-Tykut perform the hands-on procedural work: restraining and preparing subjects, marking them, and installing subcutaneous tracking implants. This division of labor insulates Maytra leadership from direct contact with abductees while ensuring operational precision — the X-Tykut's programming ensures consistent execution of these protocols regardless of individual variation in human subjects.

The Maytra's broader abduction agenda on Terra extended to slave trafficking operations: humans were transported to mines on Terra's moon and Mars, and traded with other species — primarily Reptilians — as commodities. The X-Tykut are the operational instrument through which such abductions were executed at the individual level.

Alliance of the Six

The Maytra were members of the Alliance of the Six — a coalition formed by the Orion Nebu Tall Grays during the Orion Wars, comprising the Nebu, Draco reptilians, Kiily-Tokurt, Maytra, Solipsi Rai, and Xrog of Zeta Reticuli. When the Galactic Federation of Worlds cracked the Nebu hive signal in October 2021, the Alliance collapsed. With the dissolution of the alliance structure that had coordinated their Terra operations, the X-Tykut's operational deployments were curtailed significantly — their utility depended entirely on the Maytra command network that had been disrupted.

Comparison with other synthetic races

The X-Tykut occupy a distinct niche among synthetic beings documented in galactic records. Unlike the Do-Hu — cloned biosynthetic technicians created by the Solipsi Rai — the X-Tykut are fully inorganic rather than biologically cloned. Their task-specific morphological variation also sets them apart: most synthetic races are produced to a single template, while the X-Tykut's design philosophy allows for specialized configurations. Their resemblance to small Greys has led to confusion in abduction accounts, where witnesses sometimes cannot distinguish X-Tykut operatives from organic Grey species such as the Solipsi Rai.
