S-2

S-2 is the reported upper-level entry control complex of the Papoose Lake underground installation in Nevada, approximately southwest of Groom Lake (Area 51). The facility serves as the administrative surface-to-subsurface access point for the deeper S-4 compartment — four levels below — which houses reverse-engineering and biological research programs. According to these accounts, S-2 contains vehicle parking and electric vehicle infrastructure, a multi-stage security checkpoint, and an alien housing complex allegedly used for the containment and observation of living non-human beings. In a separate usage, "Site II" was the original military designation for the Groom Lake facility itself during the U-2 program era.[citation needed]

Location and access

According to Richard Doty, S-2 is reportedly connected to the Area 51 surface complex via a series of buried trenches and tunnels running from the southern end of Groom Lake to Papoose Lake.[citation needed] Entry requires knowledge of four specific procedures — entry point, turn location, elevator positions — known only to personnel who have physically been to the facility. Clearance is strictly compartmented: Richard Doty, a former AFOSI officer who visited S-2 on multiple occasions, had clearance that went no further than S-2, and even senior intelligence officers with top-secret access were excluded from the deeper S-4 levels by need-to-know protocols. In a 2019 interview for the My Alien Life podcast, Doty noted that his own access to the S-2 complex predated Bob Lazar's.

Construction history

According to Dan Burisch, the Papoose Lake installation was originally designed as a deep underground military base for biodefense and biological warfare applications, then repurposed for the reverse engineering of non-human craft, weapons systems, and biological research involving extraterrestrial beings. In 1984, Richard Doty witnessed tunnel-drilling operations to expand the underground complex, performed by a private drilling company that had been working on the adjacent Nevada Test Site.

Entry control and logistics

S-2 operates as the logistics hub for the entire Papoose Lake complex — vehicle staging, electric vehicle dispatch, and the primary security checkpoint controlling all downward access to S-3 and S-4.

Active research and development

Michael Salla has distinguished the functional roles of the two levels: while S-4 has been characterized as "almost like a flying saucer museum" housing older recovered craft for study, S-2 reportedly serves as the active production site where leading aerospace contractors build working prototypes of advanced craft including the TR-3B. Both Richard Doty and Phil Schneider independently described S-2 as a significant facility; Bob Lazar was reportedly selected specifically for S-4 because the program needed someone to examine recovered craft that active corporate engineers at S-2 were already moving beyond. Doty corroborated Lazar's physical familiarity with the facility, confirming that Lazar knew all four access procedures.

Alien housing complex

According to Richard Doty, the facility includes a dedicated alien housing complex beneath the entry level, equipped with a viewing gallery and closed-circuit television monitoring of living non-human beings. Dan Burisch, who worked at S-4 under Project Aquarius, confirmed the existence of the viewing gallery to researcher Michael Schratt. The so-called "Victor" footage — a purported 1996 recording of a Grey alien interrogation — was allegedly filmed in this complex rather than at S-4: "that was not filmed at S-4, John, that was filmed at the alien housing complex under S-2." Doty's description of the S-2 access infrastructure provides the physical setting in which the interview would have been conducted, if authentic. The original recording was on 16mm motion picture film — standard government practice for classified documentation — later transferred to VHS by the individual known as "Victor" in the early 1990s; Wendelle Stevens at one point possessed the original 16mm film.

Disclosure and documentation

Bob Lazar's account of the S-4 facility was the subject of a 2018 documentary by Jeremy Corbell. Richard Doty has a documented history of disinformation activities on behalf of the United States Air Force, acknowledged in Congressional records.
