Project Galileo (disambiguation)
Template:Disambig Project Galileo may refer to:
- Project Galileo (Lazar) — the codename given by Bob Lazar for the alien-propulsion reverse-engineering program at S-4, Papoose Lake, Nevada (1988–89); concerned back-engineering of nine disc-shaped craft using Element 115 reactors and gravity amplifiers
- Project GALILEO (Cooper) — an alleged JASON Society operation described by William Cooper in Behold a Pale Horse (1991), whose mission was to ignite Jupiter's atmosphere using the NASA Galileo spacecraft's plutonium payload, creating a second sun designated "LUCIFER"
- The Galileo Project — an open-science academic initiative founded July 2021 by Avi Loeb at Harvard University to search for extraterrestrial technological civilizations through AI-powered telescope networks, interstellar object study, and satellite detection
These three programs are unrelated to each other and share only the "Galileo" name, derived in each case from the Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei (1564–1642). The collision between Lazar's alleged classified program name and the simultaneously active NASA Galileo mission (1989–2003) has been noted as either coincidence or deliberate obfuscation.
