UFO interception

UFO interception refers to an alleged deliberate engagement, disabling, or forced recovery of an unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP) or exotic vehicle by human-operated weapons or energy systems, sometimes with the aim of downing and recovering the craft. Per Steven Greer, by 1947 the United States had developed classified electromagnetic or scalar-wave-based technologies — possibly derived from Tesla-era research, and connected to programs such as the Philadelphia Experiment — capable of interfering with UAP propulsion and forcing emergency landings or outright destruction. These technologies are alleged to have been developed and housed within special access programs by contractors including Raytheon and Lockheed. Several major alleged UFO crash events — including the Roswell incident of 1947 — have been attributed by some researchers to deliberate shootdowns rather than accidental mechanical failure.

Historical development

Philip Corso, who commanded missile operations at White Sands Missile Range in the 1950s, confirmed that U.S. active radar tracking systems were capable of interfering with UAP propulsion by that decade. During his tenure, a non-human being landed and made contact with Corso directly, requesting that Corso shut down his radar installation as a condition of departure. Corso confirmed: "The being asked that he shut his radars down... if I do this, what do you have to offer me? And the being said, would you like to come aboard?" This episode demonstrated that by the 1950s, radar systems posed a demonstrable hazard to UAP operations, making their role in generating crash events plausible. Researcher Paola Harris received confirmation from New Mexico witnesses that mobile radar towers were positioned in the areas of the 1945 Trinity crash, consistent with radar interference as a causal factor.

Separate accounts have alleged that advanced German aerospace programs during World War II also developed technologies capable of interacting with UAP — a thread Richard Dolan has connected to the post-war absorption of German scientific personnel into U.S. programs through Operation Paperclip and the subsequent acceleration of classified technology development in the late 1940s.

2023 North American shootdowns

In February 2023, the U.S. military shot down a Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon and at least three other unidentified objects over North American airspace using AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles fired from F-22 Raptors. The three additional objects — described by Pentagon officials only as cylindrical, octagonal, and approximately car-sized, respectively — were never publicly identified and were not connected to Chinese or known state programs. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) was involved in the response. Researcher Cristina Gomez connected the pattern of events to the El Paso Airport UFO incident of February 2026, in which a Pentagon high-energy laser system was deployed near Fort Bliss and used to engage aerial objects, shooting down objects including party balloons misidentified as threats.

Shootdown-linked recoveries

Shootdown-linked recoveries are considered a subset of the broader UFO crash retrieval apparatus described by witnesses including Clifford Stone, who noted that the being he released from Pentagon custody explicitly warned that the arrival of its extraction team would involve technologies dangerous to nearby humans — implying that UAP interdiction technology on both sides of the encounter was a factor in crash-retrieval scenarios.
