The alleged connection between the JFK assassination and UFOs holds that President John F. Kennedy was killed on November 22, 1963, at least in part because of his knowledge of, or pursuit of, classified information about unidentified flying objects, secret space programs (SSPs), and hidden space arks. The thesis has been advanced most systematically by Michael Salla in his 2013 book Kennedy's Last Stand and elaborated through subsequent Exopolitics Today episodes linking Kennedy's suppressed knowledge to Space Arks buried under ancient structures.

Kennedy's pursuit of UFO information

Kennedy's UFO pursuit proceeded in three phases. In the first, Kennedy used his authority to demand access to CIA and MJ-12 UFO files, which Allen Dulles refused. In the second, Kennedy used his commander-in-chief authority to tour military facilities housing extraterrestrial material. In the third, he issued paired memoranda on November 12, 1963 — ten days before his assassination — constituting a direct end-run around MJ-12.

Whistleblower testimony collected by author Timothy Good indicates that Kennedy, around 1961–62, expressed a wish to see alien bodies associated with a crash site, and subsequently visited Homestead Air Force Base in Florida — later confirmed as a storage site for extraterrestrial artifacts when President Richard Nixon brought entertainer Jackie Gleason there for the same purpose.

The CIA wiretap of Marilyn Monroe — signed by CIA counterintelligence chief James Angleton and dated August 3, 1962, one day before Monroe's death — as evidence that Monroe had learned from Kennedy about his visits to classified bases where he saw UFOs and planned to reveal this at a press conference.

Three interlocking areas in which Kennedy pursued suppressed information are identified: classified UFO files held by Majestic 12 (MJ-12), facilities housing recovered extraterrestrial technology, and the existence of ancient spacecraft left behind by seeder civilizations beneath major archaeological sites.

The connection to Space Arks emerged from contact accounts from JP, Elena Danaan, and Jean-Charles Moyen indicating that seeder civilizations routinely buried large spacecraft beneath the sites they colonized, and that those craft remained functional beneath ancient structures across the Earth and oceans.

A 2024 exchange between journalist Ross Coulthart and Luis Elizondo in which Elizondo used the analogy of finding an intact Boeing 747 inside King Tut's tomb — a technologically anachronistic object buried with an ancient ruler — as the best description he could give without going into classified detail. This was interpreted as Elizondo and Coulthart "nudging" the public toward disclosure that large ancient spacecraft have been discovered buried beneath ancient structures — precisely the class of object that Kennedy would have encountered during his visits to classified military installations.

William Cooper provided an earlier version of the JFK-UFO connection in Behold a Pale Horse (1991), stating that Kennedy discovered the CIA-controlled drug trade that funded off-world colonization programs and issued an ultimatum to Majesty Twelve to "clean up the drug problem," while simultaneously announcing his intention to reveal the alien presence to the American public within the following year. Cooper stated that Kennedy "was not a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and knew nothing of Alternative 2 or Alternative 3" — the underground and off-world survival programs — and that "his assassination was ordered by the Policy Committee."

The November 12 memoranda and Kennedy's disclosure plan

On November 12, 1963 — the day after Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev accepted Kennedy's September 20 proposal for joint space and lunar cooperation — Kennedy issued two linked documents. The first, National Security Action Memorandum 271, directed the NASA administrator to develop substantive technical cooperation with the USSR in outer space, which was specifically designed to open the flow of classified UFO data to Soviet counterparts and break MJ-12's exclusive control. The second, a top-secret memorandum to CIA director John McCone, ordered a classification review of all UFO intelligence files affecting national security and their sharing with NASA — a direct demand that the CIA's MJ-12 cache be released into the broader government circulation.

Handwriting on the McCone memorandum — noting "Angleton has MJ-12 directive" — is identified as the smoking-gun link between James Angleton's CIA counterintelligence role and the assassination: the annotation, dated November 20, 1963, indicates that two days before the assassination, Angleton was citing an MJ-12 "Project Environment" directive to override Kennedy's demand, with that directive containing a cryptic assassination authorization for when "conditions in Washington become non-conducive for growth."

George Adamski and ET contact with Kennedy

Contactee George Adamski served as an indirect broker of ET information to Kennedy. Adamski — who held a U.S. government ordnance card granting access to secure military facilities and regularly briefed Pentagon officials after his 1950s extraterrestrial contacts — claimed to have met confidentially with Kennedy twice in late 1961 and 1962, passing on communications from his Nordic ET contacts. Among those communications was a warning from Nordic extraterrestrials about the crisis of October 1962 — the Cuban Missile Crisis — delivered approximately a year in advance, along with advice on how to navigate it.

Forensic evidence

Forensic scientist Joseph Scott Morgan has examined both the New Orleans dimensions of the assassination — including the network of anti-Castro Cuban exiles, the role of Clay Shaw, and the covert activities of David Ferrie and Guy Banister — and the forensic handling of Kennedy's body. His analysis focuses on the transfer of the body from Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas to Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland, where the autopsy was performed by military physicians with limited forensic pathology experience, producing inconsistencies in wound descriptions that Morgan characterizes as a "botched cover-up." The discrepancy between the large rear exit wound described by Parkland Hospital staff — consistent with a shot from the front — and the official single-bullet theory aligns with testimony by the forty-plus witnesses described by Oliver Stone and Jefferson Morley in their congressional testimony.

Warner IV: Paperclip scientists' additional motive

Steven Greer has identified Kennedy as one of only two U.S. presidents who made "a serious effort to fix the problem" of the unconstitutional covert programs controlling extraterrestrial-related technology, stating that Kennedy "was killed" for this effort — the other being Bill Clinton, whose team of special forces operatives (designated "Team Red") was allegedly neutralized entirely.

Greer has also described a letter dated May 1968 — one month before the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy — in the Disclosure Project archive, allegedly signed by RFK Sr., in which Kennedy identifies himself as "a card carrying member of the Amalgamated Flying Saucer Clubs of America" and expresses an intention to investigate the subject further if he became president.

John Warner IV endorses the assessment that Kennedy was killed in part because he intended to share classified UFO files with the Soviets, and adds that Nazi aerospace scientists transplanted to the U.S. had additional motive to prevent this sharing given their intense hostility toward the Soviet Union: "Kennedy wanted to share the UFO file with the Russians... the Nazis, aerospace scientists had no way, they hated the Russians with a passion even more than the Americans did. So they were involved too, for sure."

Fourth Reich connection

Among the 53,000 JFK assassination documents released by the National Archives from July 2017 to April 2018 was a document referencing a photograph of Adolf Hitler in Colombia dated September 1955 — released as part of the JFK archive because of the inherent connection between escaped Nazis, the Fourth Reich, and the assassination's true motive.

MJ-12 was replaced after Kennedy's death by an international consortium — later called "Jehovah" and then "Zodiac" — financed by major industrial and intelligence interests across the U.S., Britain, and Germany, representing the absorption of the original 1950s U.S.-German Antarctic agreements into a global structure beyond any single nation's control. The Apollo program was itself a front controlled by Fourth Reich figures: Wernher von Braun, director of the Marshall Space Flight Center (1960–1970), and Kurt Debus, director of the Kennedy Space Flight Center (1962–1974), were both former Nazi SS officers, with the Marshall Space Flight Center described by William Tompkins as informally flying a version of the American flag with the stars replaced by a swastika.

The disclosure pathway and its stakes

The sequence of future disclosure events is expected to follow a natural escalation: first, the discovery of ancient spacecraft beneath Earth and oceans; then, contact with inner Earth civilizations; and finally, announcements of extraterrestrial visitors from other solar systems. This framing placed Kennedy's assassination in a structural context: the suppression of knowledge about buried space arks was argued to be the same suppression that motivated his killing — any presidential attempt to declassify or internationalize this information would have threatened the MJ-12 group's control over the technology.

JP's Saturn mission and the broader suppressed program

Connected to the JFK-UFO narrative is JP's recently recovered memory of a covert mission to Saturn, involving operations near the rings. JP's mission is related to the secret space program and to a crash of an object at Saturn — both matters that fall within the category of information that the MJ-12 consortium killed to protect.

Space Arks and the Atlantic space ark

The Atlantic space ark — described by JP and Danaan as buried beneath the former Atlantean capital of Poseidon and now positioned in the mid-Atlantic Ocean following activation by the arrival of Intergalactic Confederation ships — is among the class of objects that Elizondo's 747-in-a-tomb analogy pointed toward. An independent corroboration was cited: a remote viewing session conducted by Dick Allgire's team in April 2023 whose results were said to match JP's description of an ancient, alien object buried at the bottom of the Atlantic.

Congressional UFO hearings and the cover-up narrative

The 2024 congressional UFO hearing activity — including testimony before the House Oversight Committee and a planned Senate Armed Services subcommittee session — connects to the same structural dynamic that suppressed Kennedy: intelligence community management of the UFO narrative to keep it in a "threat" framing rather than revealing the full picture of ET contact and suppressed technology.

Cruikshank's documentary analysis

Australian researcher Jeff Cruikshank conducted an independent analysis of declassified JFK assassination files released in April 2025, centering on a document he identifies as a bigot list — a roster of 85 individuals with clearances dated to 1947 — which he argues is a personnel list for the Majestic 12 reverse engineering program rather than a CIA operational document, because its members include an aerospace engineer from Lockheed Martin, two generals, and Archibald Roosevelt, drawn from backgrounds inconsistent with a single CIA operation.

Cruikshank's analysis centers on David Lamar Christ, identified as the CIA's first applied physicist, whom Cruikshank links both to the MJ-12 reverse engineering program and to Project Palladium — a CIA operation that injected false UFO-type radar returns into Soviet air defense systems. Christ was captured in Havana and tortured by Castro's personnel, who then passed intelligence about the reverse engineering program and Palladium to Nikita Khrushchev. Cruikshank argues the Vienna summit of June 1961 was the direct trigger for Kennedy's investigation of MJ-12: Khrushchev, armed with Christ's extracted intelligence, warned Kennedy to stop "fooling around" with psychological warfare operations.

Cruikshank identifies a document declassified only in 2022 — the schedule of Evelyn Lincoln, Kennedy's personal secretary — confirming that on June 28, 1961, Allen Dulles met Kennedy twice, with an off-the-record 3:30 pm meeting. This date corroborates the leaked Majestic Documents "terse memo," which predates the declassification of Lincoln's diary by two years and correctly identifies June 28, 1961 as the date Kennedy summoned Dulles for a review of "MJ-12 intelligence operations as they relate to Cold War psychological plans." Cruikshank further argues that Kennedy fired Dulles not for the Bay of Pigs invasion but for his November 5, 1961 refusal to release UFO file details, citing the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as grounds.

Levenda: Maury Island–Banister–Oswald network

Peter Levenda documented a web of connections linking the 1947 Maury Island incident to the Kennedy assassination. Fred Christman, an apparent former OSS operative who witnessed UFO debris in Puget Sound, was associated with Guy Banister, the former FBI special agent who ran a New Orleans operation at 544 Camp Street from which Lee Harvey Oswald distributed Fair Play for Cuba leaflets. Banister's FBI role in the late 1940s had involved reporting directly to Hoover on UFO sightings — "the actual X Files." The two Army Air Forces intelligence officers who flew the Maury Island slag samples back for analysis died when their plane exploded in mid-air — the first known fatality in the modern UFO era.

Levenda further traced Arthur Young (inventor of the Bell helicopter), whose wife Ruth Forbes Payne Young attended the 1952–53 Nine séance with Andrija Puharich, and whose daughter-in-law Ruth Payne later housed Oswald and Marina in Texas. Allen Dulles, serving on the Warren Commission, deflected Ruth Payne's testimony at the moment she was about to name the connection to Arthur Young's circle.

American Alchemy episode: "Who Actually Killed Our President?"

A 2025 episode of the American Alchemy podcast hosted by Jesse Michels, featuring David Nino Rodriguez and researcher Jeremy Rys (known online as "Alien Scientist"), examined the JFK-UFO connection in the context of the 2025 release of approximately 80,000 pages of declassified JFK assassination records. Rys, who spent decades investigating the assassination, argued that the shot that killed Kennedy was fired from the grassy knoll by David Morales — the designated "crack shot" of a triangular fire team designated the "S Force" — in a crossfire coordinated from three positions, a structure originally developed for the CIA's covert programme to assassinate Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, and other Cuban leaders.

Rys traced the personnel and funding structure of the assassination back to Operation 40 — a covert paramilitary program set up under Richard Nixon and the 5412 Committee during the Eisenhower administration in 1959–60. The programme recruited anti-Castro Cuban exiles who had fled Batista's fall in January 1959, many of whom were former mob enforcers connected to Santos Trafficante, the Havana mob boss who had run gambling casinos, prostitution, and heroin smuggling operations in Cuba before the revolution. A portion of profits from heroin trafficking through Southeast Asia was diverted to fund weapons for anti-communist operations — a financial architecture Rys described as the structural template later repeated in Iran-Contra.

Rys stated that Nixon, upon learning he would be the 1960 Republican presidential nominee after Nelson Rockefeller withdrew from the primary race on June 7, 1960, used the secure 5412 Committee communications line to contact Howard Hughes and instructed him to assemble an assassination team at a remove from the White House. Hughes dispatched his lawyer Bob Maheu to meet Johnny Roselli in Las Vegas; Roselli escalated to Sam Giancana; and all three traveled to Florida to meet Trafficante at the Fontainebleau Hotel, where Sheffield Edwards, the CIA's chief of security under Allen Dulles, gave the green light at a third meeting under the assumed name "Ed." The fifteen-man S Force trained in a triangular-crossfire formation at Clint Murchison Jr.'s ranch in Oaxaca, Mexico, funded through skimmed casino cash driven by Cadillac to New Orleans and ultimately deposited in a Miami bank account, before being pivoted from Castro to Kennedy after Nixon lost the 1960 election.

Rodriguez, drawing on the documents in the 2025 release, identified Rip Robertson — the CIA's S Force field operations commander — as photographically placed in Dealey Plaza on the day of the assassination, and named Ed Lansdale similarly identifiable in photographs of the scene. He argued that the Zapruder film had been altered at Eastman Kodak's Rochester facility under Charles Douglas Jackson — a veteran of the U.S. psychological warfare apparatus who also managed Life magazine — with frames removed that would have made the directionality of the fatal head shot unambiguous.

The episode also featured Danny Sheehan, who confirmed his view that the CIA killed Kennedy, and that Oswald could not have fired the number of shots attributed to him under the Warren Commission's timeline. The UFO-JFK connection discussed in this episode centered on the same suppression dynamic identified across all accounts: the covert apparatus assembled to remove Kennedy was the same one managing classified programs involving recovered non-human technology — and Kennedy's threat to open those programs to Soviet oversight through National Security Action Memorandum 271 was the proximate trigger.

In separate interviews, Sheehan cited a June 5, 1963 order from Kennedy directing CIA Director John McCone to brief him on all UAP information — because Kennedy intended to share it with Nikita Khrushchev as part of a secret joint space program negotiated through private letters carried by Norman Cousins — as the precipitating event that caused Allen Dulles to authorize the assassination team. Sheehan also relayed the account of attorney F. Lee Bailey's client Santos Trafficante, who explained that the true purpose of the Watergate burglary was to discover whether the Democratic Party chairman had learned that the assassination team created by Nixon in 1960 to kill Castro was the same team that killed Kennedy.

CIA surveillance and the pre-assassination file

Jefferson Morley, a journalist and author of The Ghost: The Secret Life of CIA Spymaster James Jesus Angleton, has documented that the CIA maintained a 198-page file on Lee Harvey Oswald before the assassination, having begun intercepting his mail on November 9, 1959. Testifying before the House Task Force on Declassification in 2025, Morley identified three senior CIA officers who lied under oath about what they knew about Oswald: Deputy Director Richard Helms (who claimed only "minimal" information); James Jesus Angleton, chief of CIA counterintelligence; and George Joins, chief of the CIA Miami Station's Covert Action Branch, whose AMLASH program had generated pro-Castro propaganda about Oswald before and after the assassination. Morley's conclusion: "Kennedy's enemies high in his own government — probably CIA and Pentagon" were responsible, with Oswald "not the intellectual author of the president's death, even if he fired a gun that day."

Oliver Stone's congressional testimony (2025)

On April 3, 2025, filmmaker Oliver Stone testified before the House Task Force on Declassification regarding the release of approximately 80,000 pages of newly declassified JFK records. Stone drew on his 2021 documentary JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass to present autopsy evidence: forty people who were present at either Parkland Memorial Hospital or Bethesda Naval Hospital — many still alive — had consistently described a large wound at the back of Kennedy's right head, indicating a shot from the front. Stone also raised evidence from the Assassination Records Review Board suggesting that a film may show Oswald watching the motorcade from outside the building, placing him away from the sixth floor at the time of the shots.

Judyth Vary Baker and the New Orleans cancer bioweapon project

Judyth Vary Baker — who claims to have been Lee Harvey Oswald's girlfriend in New Orleans in the summer of 1963 — describes working alongside Oswald on a covert CIA-backed project under Dr. Mary Sherman aimed at developing a cancer bioweapon for delivery to Fidel Castro via anti-Castro Cuban medical personnel with legitimate access to him. Baker argues Oswald was not Kennedy's killer but had, on the contrary, actively saved Kennedy's life by alerting contacts to an earlier assassination plot targeting Kennedy in Chicago. Baker also describes David Ferrie as having gone undercover inside the network of Kennedy's military and anti-Castro enemies — making anti-Kennedy statements as cover while feeding intelligence about real plots to Oswald — and states that Ferrie told her that he had voted for Kennedy and regarded him as "my Catholic brother."

Louis Ferrante: organized crime, the CIA, and the Kennedy assassination

Former Gambino crime family associate and JFK researcher Louis Ferrante has argued that Allen Dulles — fired as CIA Director by Kennedy after the Bay of Pigs invasion and subsequently appointed by Lyndon Johnson to the Warren Commission — was central to the assassination and used his continuing CIA influence and Commission position to control what evidence was heard and what the CIA delivered.

Ferrante has also identified a specific coincidence of timing: Robert Kennedy had, in the final days before the assassination, been closing in on Bobby Baker — Senate secretary and key operator for Lyndon B. Johnson — with evidence that would have not only knocked Johnson off the 1964 Democratic ticket but potentially sent him to prison. Per Ferrante, the investigative committee was sifting through the evidence "literally as the shots rang out in Dealey Plaza," at which point Johnson, now the sitting president, terminated the investigation and had all evidence returned. Ferrante also identifies three prior assassination attempts against Kennedy — each stopped or aborted — geographically tied to cities controlled by mob chieftains who opposed Kennedy: Chicago (controlled by Sam Giancana), an unspecified location tied to Santo Trafficante, and Dallas (controlled through Carlos Marcello's Texas satellite Borgata, whose underboss Joe Campisi was a close associate of Jack Ruby). Ferrante's documentary drew on materials from the Assassination Records Review Board, including Operation Northwoods — the signed Joint Chiefs plan to stage false-flag operations and blame Cuba — as evidence of the institutional mindset and willingness to deceive that he argues pervaded the same structures that organized Kennedy's assassination. He additionally argues Kennedy was committed to withdrawing from Vietnam, making him a threat to both the military-industrial complex and to Lyndon Johnson, who was about to be dropped from the 1964 Democratic ticket.

Richard Dolan: Kennedy's challenge to the security state

UFO historian Richard Dolan has synthesized Kennedy's assassination as the product of a simultaneous multi-front challenge to entrenched power that no prior president had mounted: Kennedy was attempting to "decapitate the CIA" in his own words, he had issued Executive Order 11110 authorizing the U.S. Treasury to issue silver-backed currency outside the Federal Reserve system, he was privately planning to withdraw from Vietnam after his expected 1964 re-election, and — as the November 12, 1963 memoranda to NASA and the CIA director show — he was ordering the sharing of classified UFO files with the Soviet Union. Dolan argues that Kennedy was "the last president who actually thought he was president" before Trump — and that the coordinated nature of these four challenges, any one of which would have provoked institutional opposition, together crossed a threshold that triggered the killing.

LBJ as MJ-12 asset and the Forrestal precedent

Lyndon B. Johnson is identified as a likely MJ-12 operative whose role extended beyond the Kennedy assassination to include involvement in the 1949 death of James Forrestal — the first Secretary of Defense and a Kennedy mentor — who was committed to Bethesda Naval Hospital after publicly pushing for UFO disclosure and was found dead on May 22, 1949 in circumstances officially ruled suicide. Johnson, then a freshman senator, made an unexplained visit to Forrestal at Bethesda — interpreted as a warning delivered on behalf of the MJ-12 group that Forrestal ignored before his death. The parallel is direct: Forrestal was silenced in 1949 for pursuing disclosure of the same classified UFO program that Kennedy threatened to open in 1963; the same MJ-12 mechanism — operated through CIA counterintelligence — was used in both cases; and Johnson, who became president after the assassination, was an active participant and beneficiary rather than a passive observer.

Khrushchev's acceptance and the Cosmos 21 trigger

The specific event that triggered Kennedy's November 12, 1963 memoranda cascade was the failure of the Soviet Cosmos 21 mission on November 11, 1963. The mission, intended to reach Venus, malfunctioned and remained in low Earth orbit before crashing back to Earth, embarrassing the Soviet space program. Sergei Khrushchev — Nikita Khrushchev's son — later reported that this failure caused his father to reverse his prior refusal of Kennedy's September 20, 1963 proposal for joint space and lunar cooperation. One day after Khrushchev's acceptance and the Cosmos 21 failure, Kennedy issued both National Security Action Memorandum 271 and his top-secret UFO-sharing memorandum to CIA director John McCone. A top-secret NSA intercept of an alleged hotline conversation between Kennedy and Khrushchev on the same date — a Majestic Document rated at medium-to-high authenticity — quotes Kennedy telling Khrushchev that he had "instructed our CIA to provide me with full disclosure on the phantom aspects and classified programs in which I can better assess the UFO situation," directly linking the Cosmos failure, the Soviet agreement, and Kennedy's UFO disclosure demand into a single coordinated action on November 12, 1963.

CIA involvement allegation

Former CIA operations officer John Kiriakou, drawing on his fourteen-year career at the agency, stated that he believes elements of the CIA killed John F. Kennedy.

Former CIA officer Amaryllis Kennedy, who managed Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s 2024 presidential campaign, stated that the evidence for CIA involvement in the assassination is overwhelming, connecting it to the broader pattern of intelligence community collaboration with organized crime that defined the 1960s.

Steven Greer has stated that the Disclosure Project archive contains an audio interview with Bill Holden, who served as chief steward for Air Force One during Kennedy's flight to Berlin for the "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech. According to Greer, Holden brought a newspaper clipping about a UFO sighting to Kennedy's attention during the flight, and Kennedy responded — breaking into tears — that he knew UFOs were real but that "the whole matter is out of my hands." Greer also described possessing a letter dated one month before Robert F. Kennedy's assassination in 1968, written by RFK to a UFO researcher, in which Kennedy identified himself as "a card-carrying member of the Amalgamated Flying Saucer Association of America" — evidence Greer interprets as indicating that RFK was pursuing the same UFO questions that contributed to his brother's death.

Joe Rogan has publicly argued that Donald Trump's remark — that anyone who had seen the classified files "wouldn't want to release" them — points to US government involvement, citing Tucker Carlson's open attribution of the assassination to the CIA as part of the same emerging pattern: "The only thing that makes any sense is the United States did it."

The mainstream Wikipedia treatment of the assassination of John F. Kennedy follows the official conclusion of the Warren Commission that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and rejects organised conspiracy explanations as unsupported by the documentary record. Mainstream historians and journalists treat extraterrestrial-motive theories as a distinctive subset of the broader JFK conspiracy literature that lies outside the documentary evidentiary base of the case.
