Penniston binary code download
The Penniston binary code download is a sequence of binary code that USAF Staff Sergeant Jim Penniston reported receiving telepathically while touching the Rendlesham Forest craft during the first night of the Rendlesham Forest incident on 26 December 1980. Penniston stated that when he placed his hand on the craft's surface, he "felt a strange download of information to his mind" and was compelled the following day to write out a series of zeros and ones in his field notebook — filling multiple pages.
Penniston did not publicly disclose the binary code notation for several decades. When the sequence was eventually processed by a computer programmer through a translation program, a multi-part message emerged: "Exploration of humanity. Continuous for planetary advance. Eyes of your eyes. Origin year 8100." The translated binary also produced a set of geographic coordinates pointing to locations including Hy-Brasil — an island in Irish mythology that appears on historical charts but has never been found — and the Nazca Lines in Peru.
The reference to "origin year 8100" led Linda Moulton Howe to conclude: "When one sees origin year 8100, one is forced to speculate — might we be looking not just at extraterrestrials, but time travelers from the future?" The time-travel interpretation is consistent with both primary night-one witnesses' later accounts: Penniston's binary message explicitly references a future origin year, while John Burroughs described recurring dreams in which the craft's occupants appeared as "time travelers 40 to 50,000 years in the future" who had returned to "correct things" after "something horrible."
