Channeling

Channeling is the alleged practice of receiving and transmitting information from non-physical, non-human, or higher-dimensional intelligences through an altered state of consciousness. It is distinguished from ordinary psychic reception by its sustained, structured, and often verbatim character, and underlies a substantial portion of the cosmological framework developed in exopolitics and disclosure research.

Methodology

Channels employ a range of modalities which vary considerably across sources: trance states in which the channel's normal personality is displaced; conscious or "open-eyed" channeling in which the channel remains aware; automatic writing; and telepathic impression. Marshall Vian Summers describes his reception of the Allies of Humanity briefings as "like hearing a voice on a very long distance call. No personality. No presence. Something far, far away." Elena Danaan reports her communication with the Ahel officer Thor Han Eredyon is mediated by a physical implant she has carried since childhood rather than by trance — a mechanism sometimes treated as channeling in exopolitics writing and sometimes distinguished from it.

Notable channeled sources

The Ra Material (the Law of One) was received through Carla Rueckert in trance between 1981 and 1984, over 106 sessions transcribed and published by L-L Research. The Nine material was channeled in the early 1950s by Indian scholar Professor Vinod in sessions organized by Andrija Puharich, and subsequently relayed through Uri Geller and, in 1973–74, through Phyllis Schlemmer in sessions attended by Gene Roddenberry — later compiled in The Only Planet of Choice. The Allies of Humanity — four volumes of transmissions received by Marshall Vian Summers beginning in the early 1980s — are published freely through the New Message from God organization.

Historical lineage

The Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor and Theosophical Society (founded 1875 by Helena Blavatsky) established the modern institutional channeling tradition in the West, with Blavatsky claiming reception of the Mahatma Letters from Himalayan adepts. Andrija Puharich — the researcher who facilitated Uri Geller's testing at Stanford Research Institute — hosted structured channeling sessions with entities identifying themselves as a collective called The Nine, relayed through young subjects he called "the Space Kids."

Reliability concerns

Channeling faces persistent epistemological challenges: without independent verification, received information cannot be distinguished from subconscious confabulation, disinformation from negative non-human intelligent beings, or sincere but misidentified psychic impressions. Kerry Cassidy and other researchers argue that the sheer volume and internal consistency of channeled cosmological data — across culturally unconnected sources — constitutes strong evidence of genuine external contact. Penny Bradley, a self-described SSP survivor, argues the proliferation of channeled ET messaging is compromised by voice-to-skull (V2K) technology capable of simulating transmissions from external intelligences: listeners "will tell almost word for word the same storyline."
