Karl Wolf
Karl Wolf (c. 1941–2018) was a United States Air Force staff sergeant and photographic technician who testified at the 2001 Disclosure Project National Press Club event that he had seen mosaic photographs depicting a megalithic city on the far side of the Moon while assigned to repair photographic processing equipment at a facility he was told was an NSA installation in 1965. His testimony is among the most detailed first-person accounts of alleged lunar structures in the Disclosure Project archive.
Background
Wolf was stationed at Langley Air Force Base as a photographic equipment specialist when, around 1965, he was called in to repair a photographic processing machine at a facility he initially assumed to be a NASA site after misidentifying the "NSA" designation. Upon arrival he observed scientists of multiple nationalities working in the facility, consistent with a large international program processing lunar reconnaissance photographs.
Lunar city testimony
Before Wolf could begin the repair work, a fellow sergeant in the photo lab — the two being alone — broke protocol and showed Wolf mosaic photographs assembled from the Lunar Orbiter survey images. The sergeant laid the mosaics side by side and said, "we found a city," then showed Wolf high-resolution images depicting spherical buildings, polygonal structures, obelisks resembling Egyptian needles, and what appeared to be radio telescope dishes — all of a scale suggesting construction from a poured-stone material similar to ancient megalithic sites on Earth. The session was interrupted when another person entered the room, and Wolf completed his repair work without further discussion.
Wolf reported that he returned home expecting the discovery to be publicly announced within days or years — but no such announcement was ever made. Researcher Steven Greer has cited Wolf's testimony as corroboration for other evidence of ancient structures on the Moon, noting that Wolf was a credible technical witness with no obvious motive to fabricate the encounter.
Death
Wolf died in 2018 after being struck by a truck while riding a bicycle. Fellow Disclosure Project witness Dan Willis noted Wolf's death alongside the deaths of other witnesses and characterized the pattern as suspicious.
