Pat Price
Pat Price (1918–1975) was a former police commissioner and businessman who became one of the most gifted remote viewing subjects in the Project STARGATE program at Stanford Research Institute (SRI) — and who claimed, in an unpublished document transmitted to SRI researchers, to have remotely viewed four underground extraterrestrial bases within the United States, including a primary facility beneath Mount Hayes in Alaska.
Background
Price was a retired police chief from Burbank, California who became known within the department for an unusual ability to locate suspects and crime scenes through intuition — what he described as hunches that consistently proved accurate. After retiring, Price focused his attention on developing this ability more deliberately and came to the attention of Hal Puthoff and Russell Targ at SRI.
Remote viewing career
Price was recruited by Hal Puthoff and Russell Targ at SRI beginning in 1972 and demonstrated extraordinary accuracy in controlled remote viewing trials, including a famous demonstration in which he correctly described a secret NSA facility at Sugar Grove, West Virginia — including specific rooms, equipment, and an underground vault — causing consternation about the security implications of his abilities.
Puthoff described Price arriving at SRI after hearing about the remote viewing experiments in the press, identifying himself as a former police commissioner who had used the ability operationally. Price's early SRI demonstrations were conducted under CIA oversight specifically designed to rule out collusion between researchers and subjects.
The CIA deployed Price against verified Soviet targets, with his descriptions subsequently reported by U-2 aerial reconnaissance. In one documented case, Price described a giant crane mounted on railroad tracks inside a Soviet facility — an unusual piece of equipment whose existence was reported by spy plane photography. This success led the CIA to pull Price out of SRI into direct operational work.
Lue Elizondo has stated that early in his own career he was brought into a program involving Ingo Swann and Pat Price — suggesting that Price's work had institutional successors within the U.S. intelligence community.
Mount Hayes ET base document
Price's most notable and controversial contribution was an unsolicited document he prepared and transmitted to SRI describing four underground extraterrestrial bases that he claimed to have located through extended remote viewing. The primary facility was described as being beneath Mount Hayes in Alaska — a mountain that researcher AJ Gentile describes as a "joint alien U.S. military operation inside the mountain."
The beings described in Price's document were characterized as non-human intelligences who had maintained a presence on Earth for thousands of years and whose activities included genetic monitoring of the human population. The document was never officially published by SRI or the U.S. government, though it circulated internally within the Project STARGATE program. An earlier version of the article gives the primary location as Mount Shasta in California; researcher AJ Gentile and others consistently identify it as Mount Hayes in Alaska.
Death and controversy
Price died suddenly in Las Vegas, Nevada in July 1975, officially from a heart attack. The circumstances of his death have generated extensive speculation: he reportedly encountered an unknown individual in the lobby of his hotel, felt a pinch on his arm, returned to his room, called his wife, and was dead by morning. The timing — shortly after completing and transmitting the underground base document — has led researchers to characterize his death as an assassination consistent with CIA or Cabal methods of eliminating individuals with dangerous knowledge of classified programs.
His death did not lead to the public release of the Mount Hayes document. The materials were passed by Puthoff to other senior STARGATE researchers, and the ET base documentation remains unpublished.
Legacy
Price is considered by many remote viewing researchers to be the most naturally gifted subject in the history of the SRI program — surpassing even Ingo Swann in raw accuracy per AJ Gentile's assessment. His work on Soviet facilities provided operational intelligence that justified the continued funding of the STARGATE program through the CIA, DIA, and other agencies. The underground ET base document, though unpublished, has circulated in exopolitics research as evidence of a deep underground military base program involving non-human cooperation.
