Human descendants said to be present in the past as visitors or settled communities

A future human is a descendant of present-day humans who is said to be present in the past, as a visitor who has travelled back through time or as a settled community. The time ahead from which these descendants are said to come runs from the twenty-eighth century through the twenty-four to fifty-two thousand years of Dan Burisch's lineages to about a million years according to the contactee George Kavassilas. Reports describe small, large-headed beings of the Grey type, among them the J-Rods that Burisch, an alleged S-4 insider, describes, and the greys that Kavassilas says warned him of the path of technology, and tall, human-looking beings, among them Burisch's Orions, the Anshar of Corey Goode and the human guardians of the Moon described by the channeler Brad Johnson.

The purposes attributed to them are two: the collection of human genetic material, which Burisch ascribes to the P+45k lineage, Laura Eisenhower to a "dying race" and the biological anthropologist Michael P. Masters to descendants with reproductive problems; and the steering of which future is realised, which Burisch ascribes to the P+52k lineage and the Orions and Goode to the Anshar. On these accounts the visitors are a branch of humanity and not another species, which Jason Reza Jorjani takes to make "non-human intelligence" a deliberately misleading label for them, and which the journalist Ross Coulthart says contacts in the United States intelligence community have pressed on him as a hypothesis.

Future humans are the beings posited by the extratempestrial hypothesis, one of the origin accounts arrayed in Theories of the UFO phenomenon beside the extraterrestrial hypothesis, the interdimensional hypothesis and the cryptoterrestrial hypothesis; they differ from the interdimensional beings and cryptoterrestrials of those accounts, and from the extraterrestrial humans of other star systems, in being descended from humanity itself. Danny Henderson holds that the Greys' claim to be "an advanced future us" is one of the biggest lies they told, and Michael Salla writes that a disclosure built on Burisch's scenario would be "so highly contrived" as to amount to "two small steps forward followed quickly by one large step back." The science writer Ian Ridpath suggests that the message Jim Penniston reported from a craft at the Rendlesham Forest incident may derive from the 1993 film Official Denial.

The table lists the lineages that sources describe as descended from humanity, with the time each source places them ahead of the present.

Origins and timelines

Burisch says he is aware of three "future human lineage intelligences", which in his material are the P+45k and P+52k J-Rods and the Orions, and of a fourth lineage, from 24,000 years ahead on "timeline number two", whose members jumped back to 1947 and crashed outside Roswell; he adds that he is also aware of one interdimensional intelligence, with which he has no direct experience. He says the lineages descend from a cataclysm followed by many thousands of years of evolution: those who stayed underground became the J-Rods, and those who moved to the Moon, then Mars and then Orion became the Oriontals, or so-called Nordics. He says that Project Looking Glass showed two futures as probabilities, Timeline 1 and Timeline 2, that he found the date of the Timeline 2 catastrophe in the words of the J-Rod he worked with, Chi'el'ah, and in the J-Rods' "Shadow Language", and, in a post signed by him, that those at a meeting on 28 March 2009 announced that the date recorded in the J-Rods' and Orions' history had passed "without disaster".

Goode says the Anshar claim to come from humanity's "optimal temporal reality timeline", that on noticing something like the Mandela effect they traced it back with their technology and found their timeline disappearing, and that they sent a small group back about 17 million years to keep that timeline from changing; over those years, he says, the group became a civilization of its own in underground cities. Kavassilas says the greys who appeared in his room as a teenager told him they were humans who "took a branch off our timeline" and went about a million years down the path of technology, until all body parts but the cranium atrophied, and that other kinds of greys, reptilian, insect, botanical and cetacean, are separate from them. Henry Deacon, a pseudonymous physicist whose claims Michael Shellenberger listed in his 2023 testimony to the House Oversight Committee, is said to claim that UAP occupants are time travelers and that some "ET groups are our own ancestors from different futures". Alfred Lambremont Webre, who calls the hidden time-travel government he describes the Chronogarchy, says it is run "from some place in time-space" and that "we don't know whether this is being run from the future or the past". Hal Puthoff says the beings associated with some craft are either "some advanced form of human, maybe time traveling back as an example", or "a different species that broke off from us".

Al Bielek describes being taken to the future, where he met future humans operating in 2137 and 2800 AD who wanted his help to change future timelines, and a recorded statement that Salla attributes to him places beings who called themselves the WingMakers about 750 years ahead. Salla says the WingMakers materials present their makers as humans from the future, of about the twenty-eighth century, who left time capsules.

Appearance

Masters holds that the large heads, large eyes and slight musculature reported of the greys are what further human evolution would produce, and David Grusch says he likes the beings-from-the-future hypothesis because of neoteny, a distant descendant resembling its own children, which he sets beside the childlike aspect reported in close encounters of the third kind. Steven Greer, who says some encounters involved descendants from half a million years ahead, adds that such a species "could evolve to something that would look like a non human". Richard Dolan objects that if mind uploading follows a singularity, "the future human wouldn't have any of this. It would be firstly digital if anything".

Burisch describes the P+52k J-Rods as 0.91–1.07 m tall with a Cockayne-syndrome-like appearance and the P+45k J-Rods as standing more erect at 1.07–1.22 m, says the P+52k beings had "gone to telepathy alone" with a specialised organ on the brain that lets them entrain to one another, says the P+52k J-Rod's chromosome pairs were reduced to nineteen by Robertsonian translocations, and says the beings cannot cope for long periods in our atmosphere because they have adapted to the atmosphere of their own future timeline.

Masters cites a survey in which the most commonly reported entity type was "human", followed by short greys, tall greys and hybrids, and proposes "temporal ancestry" for the variety, the reported types being snapshots of human evolution from different points in time; he adds that smaller greys seen with human-looking beings may be engineered constructs sent in first because they are more expendable. Grusch separately offers that human-looking beings may be either extraterrestrial or bioengineered "for ease of communication and acceptance". Masters does not claim the model explains all of the phenomenon.

Reported purposes

Masters cites the binary message that Penniston reported after touching a craft at Rendlesham Forest, which said "we are you from the future", that the visitors were having problems with reproduction and needed genetic material to help themselves. Ridpath notes that Official Denial, a television film in which an alien craft's occupants are "us. From the future" and come for genetic material, was broadcast in November 1993 and released on video in May 1994, within a year before Penniston's hypnosis, and suggests the film may have seeded a false memory. Laura Eisenhower says the beings who need human genetic information regard themselves as a dying race, because "future human cells" made choices. Greer calls the genetic-rescue version "the cosmic Noah's Ark".

Burisch says the P+45k J-Rods, "the abductors", want to justify their own history and look at humans as experiments, that the P+45k "rogues" want the catastrophe so that it justifies that history, and that the P+52k J-Rods want to prevent it "because they want to see the right future for humanity". Michael Schratt's report of the Burisch material says the P+45k J-Rods were talked out of treaty-authorised abductions at the Tau-9 conference by a ruse involving the Orion Cube. Goode says the Anshar stayed "quietly influencing" humans, mentally and by appearing to them, to give information "that would help us grow in consciousness and steward that timeline". Johnson says the Moon's human guardians are slowly dialling down seized technology that has bombarded the Earth and kept it at a low vibration, and watch horrendous timelines through Looking Glass technology to prevent them. Salla argues from the accounts of Bielek and others that time travel from humanity's future, together with highly evolved extraterrestrial civilizations, is here to help reveal suppressed knowledge, and Coulthart, speaking hypothetically, suggests that future humans who knew a nuclear conflagration was coming would want to head it off. Coulthart adds that he has not been able to reach a conclusion.

Relations with governments and other beings

Burisch says a series of treaties was established from the 1950s onward with "the future human intelligence. Time-travelers", the last of them negotiated at the Tau-9 treaty conference in New Mexico, and that representatives of the Orions met Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954, leaving the Majestic 12 group the Orion Cube. Goode says the Anshar broke away from the Muhammad Accords, a treaty in which the Orion, Nordic and inner Earth groups agreed not to make open contact with humanity. Burisch identifies the J-Rods with what "would be called a Gray", an identification Henderson rejects when he calls the claim to be an advanced future version of humanity a lie of the Greys. In a passage that Burisch quotes in his reply, Salla writes that it is "as though we are being conditioned to accept that the only extraterrestrials that are relevant to the human condition are the J-Rods/Grays", and Burisch answers that he is "not saying that there are no aliens" but that his work "has not involved them".
