Time manipulation
This article is about alleged technological alteration of the rate or branching of time. For displacement to past or future temporal coordinates, see

.
Time manipulation refers to the alleged technological alteration of temporal flow, including time dilation, temporal displacement, and age regression.
Time dilation technology
Multiple SSP insiders describe facilities capable of manipulating the rate of time within a contained area. Temporal stasis fields are described as zones in which time is slowed or halted for objects or beings within, used for preservation of biological specimens, crew hibernation during interstellar transit, and storage of recovered non-human intelligent being artifacts.
Temporal displacement
Project Pegasus (1968–1972), as described by Andrew Basiago, involved the DARPA-funded development of teleportation and time-travel technologies, including a "chronovisor" device that could view past and future events and physical transport of subjects to different time periods. Project Looking Glass is described separately as a device that views probable future timelines rather than physically transporting observers.
20-and-Back age regression
The 20 and Back program involves a claimed temporal manipulation in which personnel serve a 20-year tour in secret space programs, after which they are age-regressed to their physical state at the start of service and returned to within minutes of their original departure time. The mechanism is described as combining physical age reversal with memory wiping to maintain secrecy.
Extraterrestrial time technology
Swaruu of Erra describes time as a function of consciousness and frequency rather than a fixed dimension, with advanced civilisations capable of manipulating temporal flow through electromagnetic frequency control — the same toroid physics underlying stargate and propulsion systems.
