US Space Command

United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) is one of eleven unified combatant commands of the United States Department of Defense, established in 2019, with authority over all military operations above 60 miles (approximately 100 kilometers) altitude — the Kármán line recognized under international standards as the boundary of space. In the context of exopolitics, Space Command is described as the emerging institutional hub for coordinating Earth Alliance interactions with non-human intelligence visiting Earth's solar system.

Command structure and mandate

Under Title 10 of the U.S. Code, Space Command's primary duties are: (1) planning for the employment of armed forces in executing defense strategies and preparing for military contingencies; (2) taking actions to deter conflict in space; and (3) building international partnerships. As of 2024, Space Command is commanded by General Stephen Whiting, a four-star general.

Operation Olympic Defender and international partnerships

Space Command leads Operation Olympic Defender, a multilateral space operations framework whose core participants are the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand — nations drawn from the Five Eyes intelligence alliance — with Germany, France, and Italy having been invited to join.

General Whiting described this partnership architecture as a pyramid: at the base level are space situational awareness data-sharing agreements with 33 nations and over 140 aerospace corporations and international organizations; above that are bilateral and multilateral exercises, including an annual Global Sentinel exercise at Vandenberg Space Force Base involving 25 countries; at the apex is Operation Olympic Defender. Whiting emphasized that this alliance network is a feature not shared by China or Russia, providing unique access, information sharing, and perspectives from allies stationed on every continent.

Earth Alliance interpretation

Michael Salla argues that the expanding Space Command network constitutes the structural foundation of an Earth Alliance — a coordinated human institutional response to interactions with visiting non-human intelligence. He notes that competing secret space programs — run separately by different nations, corporations, and intelligence agencies — left visiting extraterrestrials uncertain about who held authority on Earth; Space Command's integrated command structure is interpreted as resolving that ambiguity. Elena Danaan's contact Thor Han (of the Galactic Federation of Worlds) is cited as having discussed the need for the Earth Alliance to calibrate disclosure so that deep state actors cannot co-opt arriving information to manufacture fear.

Space Force and the war-fighting domain shift

In a 2023 interview on Redacted News, Michael Salla explained the institutional significance of the shift from treating space as a benign environment governed by the 1967 Outer Space Treaty to treating it as a "war fighting domain" requiring a dedicated military service: "With the creation of Space Force, now space is considered a war fighting domain, which basically means that the Pentagon and of course Space Force and U.S. Space Command in particular, now can actually deploy assets deep into space because space is a contested battlefield." Salla noted that the Secretary of the Air Force under Trump, Heather Wilson, had previously imposed a gag order preventing the four-star general commanding the U.S. Air Force from publicly discussing the need for a dedicated space service — a restriction that was subsequently lifted to enable the creation of Space Force and its integration under Space Command.

Huntsville relocation

In a 2025 interview on the Journey to Truth Podcast, Salla described the planned relocation of Space Command from Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado to Huntsville, Alabama, as strategically motivated by the presence of an alleged underground spaceport: "I think this is why the decision was made to move Space Command from Peterson Space Force Base to Huntsville because they're going to use that underground facility there for disclosure." He further argued that Space Command — as an integrated combatant command spanning multiple military branches — is the institutional mechanism through which the classified Solar Warden programme could be incorporated into the official military architecture without requiring immediate legislative changes: "Space Command can do that now. In the future when the truth is revealed about the secret space programs, that's when the Navy Solar Warden program will probably need to be incorporated into something like a department of the Space Force."
