Abydos stargate

The Abydos stargate is an alleged naturally occurring wormhole or stargate located in or near Abydos Temple on the west bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt, one of several natural wormholes accessed by Einstein–Rosen bridge accessing devices described primarily by Dan Burisch. The Abydos site is positioned as a sibling location to the Iraq stargate within the broader network of natural Einstein-Rosen bridges that the United States government allegedly identified and accessed using technology reverse-engineered from ancient Sumerian cylinder seals as part of Project Aquarius and related classified projects. The site became the location of the most significant alleged stargate operation involving the Looking Glass device — the 2003 Abydos incident in which Chi'el'ah was reportedly transported through the wormhole back to Zeta Reticuli.

The central event involving the Abydos stargate is the alleged 2003 Abydos incident in which Chi'el'ah, having been transported to the temple by Majestic-12 operatives to allow diplomatic communication with his political structure via the wormhole, reportedly pleaded with Dan Burisch to violate protocol and push his transport stroller through the open Einstein-Rosen bridge, returning him home to Zeta Reticuli. Burisch allegedly complied with this request.

The term "Abydos Stargate" is also used colloquially in popular ancient astronaut literature to refer to a set of relief carvings in the Temple of Seti I at Abydos, variously claimed to depict helicopters, submarines, and other modern vehicles; this separate tradition is unrelated to the Burisch stargate account and is addressed in a distinct section below.

Natural stargate network

The planet Earth allegedly contains multiple naturally occurring wormholes — stable or semi-stable Einstein-Rosen bridges — at fixed geographic locations. These wormholes do not remain continuously open but flicker or pulse; the Looking Glass device was developed specifically to stabilise and expand these natural apertures for practical use. Burisch identifies at least two major natural stargate locations: one at or near Abydos Temple in Egypt, and a second in Iraq — the latter alleged to have been a primary motivation for the United States invasion of Iraq in 2003, which Burisch and several other commentators within the alternative-research community claim was conducted partly to secure access to the Iraqi stargate before it could be used by other parties.

The existence of these wormholes, according to Burisch, was first determined by the Sumerians, who approximately 6,000 years ago discovered how to locate and interface with them and encoded the relevant technical knowledge on clay cylinder seals. These seals were subsequently recovered and decoded by United States government researchers, who used the information to engineer the Looking Glass device. Burisch has offered varying accounts of when and how the United States first became aware of the stargates; in some versions the discovery was made through analysis of documents recovered from Roswell crash debris, while in others the cylinder seals were obtained through archaeological excavations in Iraq and the wider Fertile Crescent region.

The Looking Glass device

The device used to access the Abydos stargate — referred to interchangeably as the Looking Glass, the Einstein-Rosen bridge promoter, or the stargate device — was allegedly a complex piece of technology assembled from both human engineering and materials derived from the J-Rod extraterrestrials. The device allegedly comprised a spherical, spinning, arced rectangular solid matrix of nickel, cadmium, and barium, mounted above a supercooled spinning disk that was injected with argon gas and a proprietary "repulsion matter" that counteracted gravitational attraction. The repulsion matter was obtained by bombarding heavy materials recovered from the J-Rod entities with electromagnetism, causing them to repel gravity rather than respond to it in the conventional manner.

In operation, the spinning matrix generated a localised spacetime distortion that could interface with a nearby natural wormhole, effectively "piggy-backing" on the existing Einstein-Rosen bridge and expanding it sufficiently to allow information transfer and, in carefully controlled conditions, the passage of biological material. The device had been used prior to the Abydos incident to attempt the transport of a human through time; Burisch states that this attempt resulted in the death of the human subject, and that subsequent use of the device for biological transport was strictly regulated. By the time of the Abydos incident, the Looking Glass had been used primarily for viewing probable timelines — a function described in greater detail in the Doctrine of Convergent Timeline Paradox framework — and for communication with other points in time rather than for physical transport.

The Looking Glass was eventually decommissioned following the conclusion of the Tau-9 Treaty negotiations and the broader convergence of the two principal future timelines (T1 and T2) described in the DCTP. Burisch states that the device was disassembled and its three primary components distributed to different storage locations to prevent any single party from reassembling it unilaterally.

The 2003 Abydos incident

The central event involving the Abydos stargate occurred in 2003, coincident with the early stages of the Iraq War. Chi'el'ah — the J-Rod entity with whom Dan Burisch had worked at S-4 from approximately 1994 to 1996 — was transported by Majestic-12 operatives to Abydos Temple for a diplomatic communication operation utilizing the natural wormhole at that location.

The mission was designed as a communication-only operation with two primary objectives: allowing Chi'el'ah to re-establish diplomatic contact with his political structure, whose relationship with Majestic-12 had become strained during Tau-9 treaty renegotiation, and potentially transmitting biological material back to Chi'el'ah's timeline as part of the Lotus Protocol — healthy human DNA intended to arrest the progressive J-Rod peripheral neuropathy afflicting the J-Rod species. Physical transport through the wormhole was explicitly prohibited under Majestic-12 protocols, particularly following a previous fatal incident involving human subjects and the Looking Glass device.

Deviation from protocol

Once at the Abydos site with the Looking Glass device interface active, Chi'el'ah reportedly deviated from the planned diplomatic agenda. Rather than using the wormhole for communication as instructed, Chi'el'ah made a direct personal appeal to Burisch — communicated through the gestural and partial-telepathic mode they had developed during their years of interaction at S-4 — that he wished to go home, asking Burisch to push his transport stroller through the open Einstein-Rosen bridge.

Transport violation and immediate aftermath

Burisch allegedly made the decision to comply with Chi'el'ah's personal appeal, pushing the transport stroller — described as a "Segway-type" device with "bell jar" enclosure — into the open aperture of the Einstein-Rosen bridge. Both the stroller and Chi'el'ah were drawn through the wormhole. Burisch himself was simultaneously ejected from the immediate vicinity, describing experiencing numbness, a "flash of gray," and being thrown approximately 20-30 meters away onto a stone block.

Majestic-12 security personnel immediately responded with weapons drawn, arresting Burisch and interrogating him as a potential spy. Burisch faced severe consequences for the protocol violation, including imprisonment at S-4 Level 3, physical abuse, and formal review proceedings. Despite the harsh treatment, no formal disciplinary charges were ultimately filed, allegedly due to the diplomatic complexities surrounding Chi'el'ah's status and the ongoing Tau-9 treaty negotiations. Burisch has characterized the decision as a humane act toward a being he had come to regard as a friend during their years of interaction at S-4.

The connection between the 2003 Iraq invasion and the Iraqi stargate is a recurring element in Burisch's account of this period. He has alleged that the U.S. military's rapid seizure of Baghdad and specific pre-identified coordinates in the Mesopotamian region was at least partially motivated by the need to secure the second natural stargate before Saddam Hussein's government — which had reportedly become aware of its existence — could activate or exploit it using technology obtained from external sources. No declassified government documentation supports this connection, and it is at odds with the publicly stated aims of the 2003 invasion — an absence that, within Burisch's account, is itself ascribed to the secrecy surrounding the stargate program.

Abydos Temple and its archaeological context

Abydos is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Egypt, located approximately 160 kilometres northwest of Luxor in the Sohag Governorate of Upper Egypt. The site contains mortuary temples and tombs dating from the Early Dynastic Period (c. 3100–2686 BCE) through the New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BCE), and was historically associated with the cult of Osiris, who in Egyptian religious tradition was believed to have been buried there. The principal surviving structures at the site are the Temple of Seti I (c. 1290–1279 BCE) and the nearby Osireion, a subterranean cenotaph constructed by Seti I but completed under Ramesses II. Neither structure nor any associated inscriptions contain any text or image that mainstream Egyptology interprets as related to stargates, wormholes, or extraterrestrial communication technology. The specific carvings at the Temple of Seti I that have attracted popular interest — described below — are architectural reliefs whose interpretation as modern vehicles is rejected by Egyptologists as a product of pareidolia and a misunderstanding of palimpsest layering in ancient stone carving.

The "helicopter hieroglyphs" and the popular Abydos tradition

A separate and distinct tradition in ancient astronaut literature centres on a set of relief carvings in the upper sections of the Temple of Seti I at Abydos, which a number of popular authors and video producers have interpreted as depicting modern vehicles including helicopters, tanks, submarines, and unidentified flying craft. This interpretation gained wide circulation in the 1990s, primarily through photographs distributed via early internet forums, and has since been reproduced in numerous books and documentaries focused on ancient alien visitation. Egyptologists explain the images as a composite created by the gradual overwriting of older stone carvings by newer ones — a common practice in ancient Egyptian construction — holding that the current visual appearance results from the partial erosion of a layer of plaster over an earlier inscription, with the combination of the underlying and overlying carved surfaces producing shapes that superficially resemble modern vehicle profiles when photographed in isolation. Egyptian scholars including Zahi Hawass and academics at the Egypt Exploration Society have documented this palimpsest mechanism in published form.

This "helicopter hieroglyphs" tradition is not the same as the Abydos stargate, does not depend on Burisch's testimony, and is frequently conflated with it in popular media coverage. The two are independently reported phenomena that happen to reference the same geographic location. Burisch's account does not cite the Abydos reliefs as evidence for the stargate, and his testimony rests entirely on his personal experience and the corroborating statements of individuals within the Eagles Disobey network.

Role in J-Rod diplomatic relations

The Abydos stargate incident represents the resolution of Chi'el'ah's situation — the emotional and diplomatic climax of a relationship that began with Burisch's assignment to S-4 and the biological research program described under Project Aquarius. According to Burisch, Chi'el'ah's departure through the Abydos wormhole represented not merely the return of one individual to his own time but a significant step in the resolution of the tensions described in the Doctrine of Convergent Timeline Paradox — tensions between the P-45 and P-52 J-Rod factions over the appropriate method of addressing their species' deteriorating genetics, and between both factions and the Majestic-12 apparatus over the terms of the Tau-9 Treaty.

The incident also figures in Burisch's account of the decision to shut down and dismantle the Looking Glass devices. He describes the period immediately following the Abydos incident as one in which the international Majestic network — comprising secret-government organisations in multiple countries — reached agreement that the devices posed an unacceptable risk of timeline divergence and that their continued operation was incompatible with the convergence described in the DCTP. The decommissioning was reportedly completed before the predicted convergence window of December 21, 2012, the date Burisch had identified as a critical juncture in the timeline framework — though the absence of any observable event on that date is, on a skeptical reading, taken as falsifying the system's central prediction.
