Trans-medium travel
Trans-medium travel is the documented capability of certain unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) to operate seamlessly in multiple physical environments — atmosphere, ocean, and space — without structural modification, propulsion changeover, or the transitions visible in conventional vehicles. The capability has been observed in USG-confirmed incidents, reported by Navy pilots and radar operators, and theorized to arise from field-based propulsion that manipulates the medium around the craft rather than pushing through it.
The Nimitz encounter: underwater object connection
During the 2004 Nimitz UFO incident, Commander David Fravor and his wingman observed disturbed white water approximately the size of a Boeing 737 — shaped like a cross, pointing east — in an otherwise calm sea at the position where the Tic Tac UFO was operating. The churning pattern was consistent with a large submerged object displacing water at the surface, comparable to a seamount visible through wave-breaking patterns. When the Tic Tac departed the engagement zone, the white water was also gone — both the aerial object and whatever was creating the surface disturbance had simultaneously left.
Fravor stated his belief that an object had been operating beneath the water's surface: "In my heart I think there was something under the water." Attorney Danny Sheehan, citing Navy intelligence sources, identified the waters off Guadalupe Island — near the Nimitz incident location — as a confirmed underwater base site monitored by the carrier strike group.
Navy reports of high-speed underwater objects
Congressman Tim Burchett described Navy reports of unidentified objects operating at 200 miles per hour underwater — greater than seven times the speed of the fastest known human submarine (~35 knots) — and as large as a football field.
Navy helicopter pilot account: Puerto Rico
A Marine CH-53 helicopter pilot described to Fravor two separate incidents off Puerto Rico during training operations from Naval Station Roosevelt Roads. In the first, while recovering a BQM target drone from the Caribbean with a diver in the water, the pilot observed a large dark circular mass rising from the ocean depths toward the surface. As the diver and drone were hoisted clear, the object descended back into the depths. In a second incident months later, during torpedo recovery operations, the pilot observed a large submerged circular object ascending as the recovery diver was being lowered — causing the pilot to abort the lowering and haul the diver up immediately. The torpedo was then drawn downward by the ascending object and was never recovered.
Field-propulsion basis for trans-medium travel
Fravor theorized that trans-medium travel requires a non-reactive propulsion system — one that does not push against a medium (air or water) but instead manipulates the field surrounding the craft. A conventional engine sucks air in and expels it, or spins a propeller against water; a craft using gravity or field manipulation "moves through a void" created around it, making the medium irrelevant:
"Then it doesn't matter — you could literally in theory fly, go into the ocean, cruise around, pop back up, fly around, go to space. Nothing. You remove the barriers of the normal propulsion that we have today."
Jeremy Corbell noted that this framework is consistent with Bob Lazar's earlier description of field propulsion at S-4, and with the historical record of USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects) emerging from water and ascending to flight since at least World War II.
The Pais Patent: hybrid aerospace–undersea craft (HAUC)
The Salvatore Pais patent US10144532B2, filed by the US Navy in 2016 and published 2018, explicitly describes a craft capable of extreme speeds "in multiple mediums" — specifically naming "undersea vessels with reduced water friction" and "hybrid aerospace/undersea craft (HAUC)" as practical applications of its inertial mass reduction technology. The patent's claimed mechanism — high-frequency vibration of electrically charged surfaces creating a local polarized vacuum — would in principle eliminate the boundary between aerial and aquatic operation by surrounding the craft with a manipulated vacuum state rather than a conventional air or water interface.
National Underwater Reconnaissance Office (NURO)
Researcher UAP Gerb identified the National Underwater Reconnaissance Office (NURO) — a classified intelligence agency coordinating Navy and CIA underwater reconnaissance, established 1969 — as having direct institutional connections to UAP crash retrieval programs, noting that its activities are described as more sensitive than those of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). NURO's founding programs included an itemized inventory designated Project Sand Dollar, a classified catalog of objects on the sea floor of national security significance "ranging from the Atlantic just all around the world" that included non-aircraft items.
