Extraterrestrial law
Extraterrestrial law is the emerging body of legal principles, treaties, and human government-NHIB agreements purportedly governing interactions between terrestrial humanity and non-human intelligent beings (NHIBs), including crash-retrieval jurisdiction, custody of captured entities, technology-transfer conditions, and inter-species non-intervention norms observed by Galactic Federation-affiliated factions. Unlike space law (which governs human activity in outer space under terrestrial treaties such as the Outer Space Treaty), extraterrestrial law in the exopolitics sense attempts to describe the alleged legal frameworks under which NHIB factions operate when interacting with humanity — including the Tau-9 treaty, the Greada Treaty, and oral or telepathic agreements reportedly made in presidential-level encounters.
Scope
Extraterrestrial law as used within exopolitics literature encompasses four overlapping domains:
- Inter-governmental treaties — agreements between terrestrial governments and specific NHIB factions (Greada Treaty, Tau-9 treaty, 1952 MJ-12 surrender agreement).
- Galactic Federation norms — non-interference principles and zoning rules that GFW-affiliated civilizations reportedly observe with respect to developing biospheres and pre-contact civilizations.
- Custody and retrieval jurisdiction — contested legal status of crash-retrieved craft and biological specimens, including questions of sovereignty over material recovered on public vs. private land.
- Rights frameworks for captive NHIBs — treatment norms for non-human intelligent beings held in terrestrial custody or cooperating under liaison arrangements.
Enforcement
Because treaty counterparties include non-state NHIB factions, enforcement mechanisms in extraterrestrial law differ from terrestrial international law. Observers within the exopolitics community describe a mix of reciprocal benefit withdrawal, faction-level sanctions by GFW or Andromeda Council bodies, and — in adversarial cases — direct military action such as the reported 2021 Antarctic expulsion of the Dark Fleet.
