Consciousness-interface technology is a proposed domain of alleged exotic technology in which human consciousness — rather than a mechanical or electronic input — functions as a causal operator in the technology's function, including systems where trained psychic sensitivity is required to operate the device, where operator emotional or mental state directly affects device output, or where biological neural processes are directly read, amplified, or modified by a technological medium.

The Montauk Chair is the central device of the alleged Montauk Project at Camp Hero, Long Island, described as an interface between the mind of a trained psychic — primarily Duncan Cameron — and a radar-amplified broadcast system capable of materializing thought-forms or opening space-time portals. The chair's output was allegedly a direct physical manifestation of the operator's focused mental imagery, making it an example of consciousness as a direct causal mechanism in a technological system.

Per Dan Burisch, Looking Glass devices — alleged back-engineered Einstein–Rosen bridge hardware — were sensitive to the emotional state of the operators present during use, with strong emotional arousal distorting or corrupting the timeline imagery obtained. Burisch described the device as located at level 41–42 of S-4 at Area 51, composed of a spinning matrix of nickel, cadmium, and barium with a supercooled disc injected with argon gas and gravity-repulsion exotic matter derived from element 115; when spun sufficiently, it "opens or they can see through it." This property classifies the Looking Glass system as a consciousness-interface device despite its primary description as a spacetime manipulation technology.

Puthoff described submarine experiments in which remote viewers on underwater vessels continued to produce accurate results despite seawater — a conductive medium that is a complete electromagnetic shield at brainwave frequencies — intervening between perceiver and target, demonstrating that the remote viewing channel is non-electromagnetic in character. Puthoff also documented Princeton PEAR Laboratory experiments in which remote viewing of targets located in future time — describing where a person would go before they went — produced results statistically equivalent to conventional present-tense viewing, implying that the consciousness-interface channel operates outside ordinary temporal causality.
