Taal-Ghiar
The Taal-Ghiar are an alleged non-human hybrid species descending from Taal royal refugees from the Lyran Wars who settled on the icy world Mandoghiar in the Ghiorak-An system (Mirza, Rho Canis Majoris) in the Orion zone, where over time they interbred and hybridised with local populations, producing a race distinct from the original Lyran Taal.
History
During the Lyran Wars, the head of the Taal government struck a deal with the Draco reptilians invaders to gain time to evacuate the Man cultures and civilian populations. Records pertaining to the event and the Taal-Draco reptilians treaty were reportedly lost or destroyed during the chaos of war. The treaty provided for the royal family's safe departure: two ships left the Man system — one carrying the royals and the other carrying elites from the high castes of Taal society — both escorted by a Draco reptilian fleet. The official destination was Vega but once the cortege was far enough, the Taal royal family diverted course for the Orion zone, to the Mirza system.
Taal cultural character
The broader Taal culture from which the Taal-Ghiar descend is characterized by a strong sense of aristocratic identity. Danaan describes the Taal as "very proud, they consider themselves as royalty" and notes they are "a bit competitive" — traits that contributed to factionalism among post-Lyran Taal colonies, including the breakaway groups that the GFW eventually expelled for failing to meet "the requirement of being a peaceful and progressive culture."
Involvement with Draco reptilians and Orion Alliances
The agreements between the Draco reptilians and the Taal royals are believed to have contained undisclosed clauses not present in official records, possibly promising the Taal royals the ability to reclaim their former system and gain greater political power — consistent with the Draco reptilians' known capacity for deception. The present-day Taal-Ghiar's involvement with the Alpha Draconian Empire and the Orion Alliances remains unclear, and they are considered far removed from the interests of the Galactic Federation of Worlds. In a 2021 interview discussing her alien races catalogued in A Gift from the Stars, Danaan described how negative factions like the Draco reptilians use deception and agreements to co-opt weaker groups — consistent with the secretive deal struck between Draco reptilian forces and the Taal royal family during the Lyran Wars.
GFW perspective
Thor Han Eredyon, speaking through Elena Danaan in a 2023 interview, acknowledges the existence of Taal separatist factions while deliberately distancing the GFW from them. Describing the relationship between the Ahel and Taal in the Taygeta system, Thor Han states: "We are brothers with the Taal. We are very much united in spirit and in politics. I am not mentioning a separatist faction that went to the dark side."
