The Alcobata (singular Alcobata; sometimes given as Aluras) are an alleged non-human species originally from planet Urdam II in the Goraneor system in the Perseus region, identified as a parasite race by the Galactic Federation of Worlds and characterized as extremely aggressive. They have five bony points sticking out of the top of their skull and are a warrior-class based society with a complex hierarchical structure and a complicated multi-deity religious system. From their homeworld the Alcobata have purportedly expanded far beyond the Goraneor system, extending throughout the galaxy and reportedly beyond it; they do not interact willingly with other species.
Reproduction
The Alcobata have a dual-track reproduction system: a class of males bears eggs and is born exclusively for that purpose; they possess androgynous ability and can self-inseminate when a hormonal transformation activates the reproductive function. Females produce offspring by womb — assigned to practical social and political roles. Egg-born offspring (predominantly male) become warriors and are especially aggressive.
Activities and Earth connection
The Alcobata have colonized over 200 planets and conduct frequent ongoing abductions of humans as on all colonized worlds, purpose suspected to be slavery. They are reportedly suspected of involvement in several aircraft crashes; the most widely cited case is the 1983 Korean Air Lines Flight 007 shootdown over Russia, for which the Soviets accepted blame. Their last confirmed sighting was in Canada in September 2001. With over 5,000 ships, they are considered one of the most dangerous species due to their speed and space travel capability; their craft are flat, round, and large. The Russian Alien Races Book, an alleged KGB document compiled between 1946 and 2013, also lists the Alcobata as an aggressive species from the Perseus constellation with over 5,000 ships, suspected of involvement in the 1983 Korean Air Lines Flight 007 crash.
