This is a list of documented alien abductions — events in which a human witness reports being taken involuntarily or semi-voluntarily by non-human beings for purposes including biological examination, genetic material extraction, implantation, psychological programming, or contact transmission. Categories of abduction
Abduction accounts in the broader record have been categorized by researchers including John Mack (Harvard Medical School) into:
- Grey abductions — the dominant category from the 1960s onward; beings typically short, large-headed, conducting biological examinations and implantation procedures
- Nordic contact-abductions — longer-term contact relationships with Nordic-type beings, often educational or philosophical in character
- Military MILAB abductions — secondary abductions conducted by human military actors following primary NHI contact, designed to debrief and monitor witnesses
- SSP recruitment — involuntary or coerced recruitment of minors into secret space program service, often following initial MILAB contact
- Interdimensional encounters — contacts attributed to beings traveling between dimensions rather than interstellar space, as described in the Betty Andreasson abduction and accounts associated with Jacques Vallée's "control system" hypothesis
