Val Valerian

Val Valerian is the pen name of John Grace, a former United States intelligence officer identified in some sources as having had a background in Air Force intelligence and the NSA, who authored the Matrix series of compiled documents beginning in 1988 — an influential early compilation of government documents, witness testimony, and research material relating to extraterrestrial contact programs, advanced technology suppression, and the covert national security state.

Biography

The personal biography of John Grace is deliberately obscured, consistent with his claimed intelligence background. He was an active-duty USAF non-commissioned officer when he first circulated his research under the pen name O.H. Krill in late 1987 — not wanting to use his real name while still on active duty — and subsequently began publishing under the pseudonym Valdamar Valerian. He operated primarily through the Nevada Aerial Research Group (NARG), later renamed Leading Edge Research, headquartered in Yelm, Washington. NARG served as his publishing and distribution vehicle throughout the late 1980s and 1990s.

The Matrix series

Valerian authored the Matrix series (1988–1994), a four-volume compilation of government documents, witness testimony, and research material on extraterrestrial contact programs, MJ-12, the Grey agenda, and the Dulce Base claims. Matrix I was privately published in September 1988 with an initial print run of 100 copies. His compilation methodology — aggregating contradictory sources side by side without editorial harmonization — influenced subsequent researchers including William Cooper, whose Behold a Pale Horse (1991) cited Valerian's work.

Interviews with Alex Collier

Valerian conducted the earliest detailed interviews with Andromedan contactee Alex Collier, whose testimony about soul harvesting by Grey-hybrid programs was first compiled through Valerian's Leading Edge Research network. Collier's delay of ten to fifteen years before going public on Coast to Coast AM in 1998 meant Valerian's privately circulated compilations served as the primary vehicle for Collier's testimony prior to his mainstream radio appearances.

Influence on William Cooper

Grace's O.H. Krill document and The Matrix were among the materials sent to William Cooper by John Lear in October 1988. Cooper spent "the morning and afternoon going through it all" and stated that the information "confirmed everything I personally knew and had seen first hand" — though historian Richard Dolan noted that "it was not long before Cooper would create a series of breathtaking lies about this information." Cooper's subsequent lectures incorporated the Krill entity concept directly from Grace's pseudonym, describing the first alien ambassador as "His Omnipotent Highness" whose American designation — "Original Hostage Krill" — was "secretly called" by his handlers, a construction lifted from Grace and Lear's inside joke.

The Yellow Book

Valerian is associated with early discussion of the Yellow Book — an alleged EBE artifact containing a compressed history of the Greys' interaction with Earth. William Cooper described its origin as a compilation of revelations from the captive EBE at Project Grudge.
