Chi'el'ah–Burisch Clean Sphere incident

In approximately 1994, during a routine tissue-sampling session inside the Clean Sphere of the S-4 facility in Nevada, the alleged P-52 J-Rod designated Chi'el'ah reportedly made direct physical contact with the assigned scientist Dan Burisch during a protocol breach, transmitting telepathically what Burisch later described as an overwhelming body of information. Chi'el'ah physically climbed on him, initiating "a bombardment of the images" that was "more real than touching an object," and that left Burisch comatose for a period of several days. The content of the transmission has not been fully disclosed publicly. The incident became a point of controversy when Michael Salla publicly questioned whether Chi'el'ah had obtained Burisch's consent before initiating the contact.

The active direct-contact period during which Burisch gathered tissue samples from Chi'el'ah extended for approximately two years, with conflicting public statements placing the window at either 1992–94 or 1994–96. The incident occurred "still early" in that period — before habituation to the entrainment had fully taken hold — placing it toward the beginning of whichever window applies, contemporaneous with the drafting of the Q-94 document by Burisch and Steven Mostow.

The standard tissue-sampling protocol required Burisch to enter the Clean Sphere via a pressurized gantry in a positive-pressure BSL-4 suit, tethered constantly to external buffer supply rather than using an internal backpack system. The session followed strict movement and positioning rules, with support staff observing via cameras and viewing apparatus from outside. The key operative constraint was distance and controlled positioning: any movement by Chi'el'ah toward the scientist constituted a protocol breach, and any instinctive movement by the scientist in response was equally prohibited. On the occasion, Chi'el'ah took a step toward Burisch in apparent playfulness — a break in protocol. Burisch took a "bridal step" forward in response; Chi'el'ah took another step toward him; Burisch panicked and stepped backward, catching his heel on a floor grate and falling. Chi'el'ah climbed onto Burisch's chest and began entrainment, raising the frequency at which he was entraining the scientist while flooding him with enkephalins to calm the panic response. Communication proceeded through Chi'el'ah's species-specific audiosensory organ — a structure Burisch likened to the acoustic melon of a dolphin, used by P-52 J-Rods to "thump" each other into entrainment. Months of prior interaction had accumulated habituation, reducing Burisch's ability to disconnect from the entrainment signal.
The clean sphere's pressurisation system included a repression valve that could be fired to cause "mild to moderate intumescence" in Chi'el'ah — a pain-compliance mechanism; because Chi'el'ah was actively entraining Burisch at that moment, any such stimulus would have been felt by Burisch simultaneously, preventing the gallery crew from intervening through that method.
The incident triggered an emergency response from the support team outside the sphere. In the time it took personnel to re-enter and remove Burisch, Chi'el'ah transmitted "a vast amount of information" — described by Burisch as "a bombardment of the images" that was "more real than touching an object." Burisch was unconscious when removed. He was held in S-4's on-site medical facilities for several days before being well enough to return to Area 51 and then to Las Vegas.
Content of the transmission
The specific content of the transmission has not been publicly disclosed in full by Burisch. Chi'el'ah was instrumental in providing Burisch with intelligence about Project Looking Glass operations and Majestic 12's internal activities — intelligence Burisch subsequently leveraged as a quid pro quo in his own dealings with Majestic: "Chi'el'ah was instrumental in getting you to have greater access to intelligence about what the Looking Glass and MJ12 were doing." Whether this intelligence was conveyed during the contact incident specifically, or via the ongoing telepathic interactions throughout the tissue-sampling period, is not separated out in Burisch's recorded statements.
Aftermath and Majestic debriefing

Following the incident, Burisch was unconscious or comatose for several days. Majestic 12 personnel subsequently attempted to extract the contents of the transmission from him in debriefing. The extent to which the transmitted information was successfully extracted and acted upon by Majestic is not addressed in the publicly available primary sources.
Salla–Burisch consent exchange (April 2004)
In April 2004, Dr. Michael Salla published an open letter to Burisch questioning whether Chi'el'ah had asked for Burisch's consent before initiating the physical and telepathic contact: "Did J-Rod ask your permission? Did he enquire as to whether you would accept the information he wished to share with you?" The consistent J-Rod pattern of bypassing human consent — "the one common thread in these interactions is that the J-Rods simply don't ask permission" — disqualified them from being regarded as humanity's "true friends," regardless of the ostensibly beneficial intent of their mission, per Salla.
Burisch responded publicly, defending the P-52 J-Rods' cooperative intent and the purpose of the Tau-9 Conference while not directly disputing the factual question of whether consent had been sought.
