A Gift from the Stars: Extraterrestrial Contacts and Guide of Alien Races is a 2020 self-published book by Elena Danaan, an Irish-based French archaeologist, druidess, and claimed contactee. The book is divided into three parts: a personal memoir of Danaan's claimed alien abductions and contacts, an encyclopedic catalogue of 110 extraterrestrial species said to interact with Earth, and a set of channelled messages from extraterrestrial beings. The catalogue is attributed primarily to Thor Han Eredyon — described as a Pleiadian fleet commander and Danaan's long-term contact — with additional material from a Pleiadian light being named Coron and from a document claimed to be a Russian intelligence record of alien races.

Background and origins

Danaan states she was abducted by Greys (the Solipsi Rai) at age nine in Marseille in 1979 and rescued from the abducting craft by a crew of beings from the Pleiades, Sirius, and Epsilon Eridani including Thor Han, who deactivated and re-tuned the abductors' tracking implant in her skull.

In December 2019, Danaan underwent quantum hypnosis with therapist Elisa Wright and recovered suppressed memories. Shortly after, she received an unmarked envelope containing a spiral-bound document she identifies as a Russian Secret Services record of alien races, which served as the structural template for Part II. The catalogue was compiled through daily telepathic sessions with Thor Han, with text verified against the Russian document (the text mostly accurate, the photographs often mismatched). Near completion, the work session was reportedly interrupted by an intrusion attempt on Danaan's computer; Thor Han warned her to disconnect and copy the file seconds before the document was converted to binary by an unknown intruder. The process was authorized by the Pleiadian official Coron.

Structure

The book is organized in three parts:

Part II species and structures

Substantive descriptions of species and organizations catalogued in Part II are treated in their dedicated subject articles:

Illustrations

All species illustrations throughout Part II are Danaan's own black-and-white drawings, produced from her first-hand contacts or from descriptions given during the channelling sessions.

Telepathic composition process

In a 2021 interview on Midnight, On Earth, Danaan described how Part II entries were produced: Thor Han would send her telepathic images of each species — memories shared through the implant connection — which she would study for approximately a minute before drawing from memory, with textual descriptions dictated through the same telepathic channel. Danaan explained that the implant enabling this communication was originally a tracker placed by the Grey abductors, recalibrated to Federation frequencies rather than removed when she was rescued; the system was activated when she was eighteen.

Production timeline and reception

Danaan has described the book as produced in roughly four months in 2020 — deliberately rapid because she "had to go public as fast as possible" for safety reasons. The hand drawings were rendered black-and-white although the source holographic images had been in colour, a constraint Danaan addressed in the later Encyclopedia Galactica (2024), which provided coloured versions of the original races guide alongside 40 additional species.

In a December 2020 interview with Laura Eisenhower — great-granddaughter of President Eisenhower — Danaan stated that the title was chosen because the knowledge itself — a map of who is out there — is "a gift from the stars, a gift for everyone." Eisenhower described the book as "a true story of an abduction and a rescue by benevolent extraterrestrials."

The book was subsequently translated into French, German, Italian, Czech, Russian, Portuguese, and Chinese.
