Mayan group
The Mayan group (also Mayan breakaway civilization or simply the Mayans) is an alleged off-world human faction affiliated with the SSP Alliance, whose members resemble ancient Maya in appearance and who operate advanced healing and consciousness technology from stone-built craft in orbit. They are described by Corey Goode as a fourth-density breakaway civilization who departed Earth — taking approximately 40 million of their people — and colonized worlds within the Pleiades open cluster.
Physical appearance
Members of the Mayan group are described as approximately 5'5" to 5'8" with compact, heavily muscular bodies of unusually high density; individuals who appear to weigh 180–200 pounds reportedly weigh 500–600 pounds owing to this physical density. Their hair is worn in elaborate braided topknots wound into circles against the head, with strands of gold filament woven through the braids. Both male and female members share this general appearance, with females differing little from males in described physique.
Craft and technology
The Mayan group's primary craft are described as giant stone cylinders — massive vessels that appear to have been cut from the interior of a mountain and placed in orbit, with polished stone walls, floors, and ceilings. Their technology is entirely consciousness-based — stone-shaped objects float in the middle of rooms, serving as consoles and diagnostic instruments, operated through touch and mental intent rather than mechanical controls.
For healing work, Mayan group members use a floating rectangular stone console, passing their hands over its surface in flowing gestures to carry out procedures that relieve pain, help individuals dissociate from traumatic memories, and suppress or restore buried recollections from the 20 and Back program. Lt. Col. Gonzales used a small black stone sphere to scan Goode's neurological state and memory integrity — a device he called a "Magic 8-ball" — which could be inserted into and retrieved from the stone console.
Role in the 20 and Back program
The Mayan group facilitated the 20 and Back return and processing cycle for SSP personnel, including suppressing traumatic full-recall memory events triggered in some participants by physiological conditions such as retinal surgery — which can produce neurological side effects that unlock repressed memory. They also assisted SSP personnel who had been enslaved or trafficked and subsequently retrieved by Alliance forces, helping them psychologically recover on one of their Pleiadian worlds.
Relationship to the SSP Alliance
The Mayan group does not maintain an official command structure within the SSP Alliance but operates as a parallel supporting faction, increasingly visible at Alliance briefings by the period Goode describes. They operate outposts in multiple locations including near the Kuiper Belt and reportedly have facilities on other planets. The Mayan group is classed as fourth-density, in the same range as the Anshar inner Earth civilization — a classification Goode says was communicated to him directly.
Following his extended healing process with the group, Lt. Col. Gonzales chose to remain with the Mayan group permanently and serve as a delegate between them and other factions in the solar system. In a 2021 interview with Michael Salla, Goode stated that Gonzales had "broke off pretty much all ties with anything earthly" and "fully joined up with the Mayan group," and that Gonzales had "become more and more like one of the Mayans" — speaking less and adopting their behavioral patterns. Goode described being physically extracted from his home without warning in the middle of the night and finding himself aboard the Mayan ship, where the group "do their little tests and whatever they're doing with me and then they send me back."
In a separate interview on the Hidden In Plain Sight podcast, Goode explained that Gonzales had undergone a consciousness-restoration process: the Mayan group revealed that Gonzales "was a part of this Mayan type of ET group, and he was incarnated here as a human being. He was a star seed and they basically restored who he was. The ET consciousness being restored."
